I wondered if it was possible to make a sandwich as good as that first cold turkey sandwich. Happy to report the answer was yes and now I am thankful for elastic waist bands

    Morning all:

One of my favorite Thanksgiving treats was the leftover bread stuffing that was still in the turkey, and I would always eat it cold, delicious!

Just saw where someone in town was smoking a turkey in their backyard and the house caught on fire, not too many details, but it did specify it was a smoker and not a fryer. The house didn't burn down completely and is habitable, guess they can be thankful for that.

I got the waffle maker out this morning as well, however, last night I mixed a few cups of flour and water with some sourdough starter and this morning I used the fermented results to make a waffle batter.

o_O Grandma ("nanna") never thought of that, might be pretty good! All the leftover white meat was made into turkey salad, which was pretty good on sandwiches, the leftover dark meat was picked off and eaten cold with a dash of S&P.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it! :)

    Yup black friday.
Went and bought a new samsung TV to replace my 8 year old samsung. Didn't go with the bestest one, just a middle of the road qled tv. It will still be worlds better than what we have now. Not hooking it up until I get a new soundbar for it. I might go with vizeo for the sound bar. 1 step at a time due to the cost of things. The TV is really for my Betty, she watches more TV than I do.

We have three Samsung TVs in our kitchen, bedroom and family room. Been reliable and great picture. Most recent replaced a 70" LG that didn't make it four years before having a fatal issue.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Our "do we have seven? Wait, looks like 13, nope, finally, the count was for nine, oops, 11 showed for dinner." We have formal china for 12, so it worked.

My wife wasn't sure what would happen. We ended up with two turkeys. We had bought a 16-pound, realized not big enough, and her ex dropped off a 22-pound fresh.
I brined the fresh one, and my wife made up an impromptu rub for the smaller one we smoked.

Smoked Turkey: my wife just did a Pulty Seasoning & Adams all-purpose house rub (mix of half & half); stuffed the empty cavity with celery stalk, sliced up lemon, and four cloves of garlic.
I tried giving away the second turkey before thanksgiving, but no takers. So the rub and smoking were last minute and not planned. Oh, it came out fantastic.

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/groaning bellies. Just had my first leftovers, nothing exotic like stuffing pancakes just gnawed a leg. There's more to come so maybe I will look into one of those ideas!

I also took advantage of Black Friday from the comfort of my recliner. Stuff I don't quite need badly enough to pay retail but when the prices are down I just say "okay you got me" and hit the buy button. I like to think I'm doing okay when I replace my ancient laptop with the newer, faster, better version and spend less for it than I did all those years ago.

We said goodbye to the DIL's family this morning. It was fantastic having them here and I guess we haven't forgotten how to be decent hosts because they all slept in late! I do feel a little worn out from all of it though and will be taking it easy for the rest of the day.

WHAT PART OF YOUR BODY GOES TO HEAVEN FIRST?

The nun teaching Sunday school was speaking to her class one morning and she asked the question, 'When you die and go to Heaven, which part of your body goes first?'

Suzy raised her hand and said, 'I think it's your hands.'

'Why do you think it's your hands, Suzy?'Suzy replied: 'Because when you pray, you hold your hands together in front of you and God just takes your hands first.'

'What a wonderful answer!', the nun said.

Little Johnny raised his hand and said, 'Sister, I think it's your feet.'

The nun looked at him with the strangest look on her face. 'Now, Johnny, why do you think it would be your feet?'

Johnny said: 'Well, I walked into Mom and Dad's bedroom the other night. Mom had her legs straight up in the air and she was saying: 'Oh God! I'm coming!' If Dad hadn't pinned her down, we'd have lost her!

    .The Nun fainted!
