It's insanity the air isn't going to be any cleaner. Then there's the climate justice line, where the less well off you are the more air pollution effects you. Everyone breaths the same air.

Take those states where vehicles last longer due to milder and more airid climates. They can probably still run buses and other fleet vehicle today that had been manufactured in the 60s and 70s.

100% this! Seeing some of the Tundra complaints and seeing some of it first hand, I certainly have some reservations moving forward.

Looking forward to the I4 hybrid. Hopefully it can tickle 30 MPG and maintain the current towing numbers. Love my truck but the punchless and not-so-efficient 3.5/6-speed combination has run its course.

The biggest problem with the 4th gen, if there are too be any, may be the world we live in now, post-Pandemic. Many people seem not to care as much, switch jobs all the time, take little pride in their work. Much of our society seems to be “phoning it in”, at least where I live. If the 4G taco is born into an apathetic factory culture, with an uninspired workforce, who could care less, no amount of up-front engineering or robotic assembly will save it.

Unlikely. It would need to be a Rapor-like truck to command that kind of window sticker.

The current Pro AT is $49,390, it's not a stretch to think the next Pro with Hybrid won't add $10K to the price.

Colorado/Canyon releases B&P mid December. We know the AT4X Edition 1 is $63,500; however that’s like a TRD Pro with a bunch of Sema components added and limited production. So a normal AT4X with front rear lockers and all the goodies should be mid $50’s. Toyota can keep the TRD Pro around $53-56 and swing cross shoppers. They won’t worry about brand loyalists since most will pay whatever they ask for it. Just my .02. If a TRD Pro hits $60 I think it better offer a lot more than it does now.

I expect TRD Pro to retail at $60k. Toyota wil probably keep the base price which will include standard option packages just under the 60 threshold, so they can say top tier midsize for under 60. There will be a base TRD, but they will never be built, accept for promotional and press testing. There will also be premium option packages, on top of the standard option packages. Expect most Pros to retail closer to 65. That's before port accessories, new model markups, and OTD costs.

If someone wants to drive a new model year Pro the year it debuts they are looking at a price of $80k to drive that top tier under $60k midsize.

There will be people who work at the dealership claiming they only paid MSRP, but that's because it will be sold to a customer willing to pay the inflated price.

My first house cost $42,500! (San Diego) I don't know....my 06 Tacoma is getting close to being a "Senior Citizen" like I am already. Where do price increases stop?! 60k to 80k is getting
    into Tesla territory.

How much of toyota sales are based on brand loyalty vs the buyer choosing based on value, looks or any other variable?

Its a rhetorical question. I doubt that a survey exists (yet) or data is available.

All that being said, the new Tundra front end has not grown on me and if the tacoma front end looks “as front heavy” its going to be difficult to want the 4th gen.

The sequoia design is well balanced IMO and I like that is more “subtle”

Brand experience for me is important. I paid $25,000 in 2006 for my Tacoma. I'll be damned if I will pay $60,000 for a new one when the time comes. I don't need a bunch of crap and gizmos that will become outdated over time and break most likely. Wouldn't care if my truck had hand crank windows. Function and price.

If that truck got 34 hwy Toyota would still be selling it today.

I agree. I want reliability but trucks gotta look good too. The Tundra just looks so bad to me. It’s the front end and I can’t see that changing over time. I hope the 4th gen Tacoma don’t look like that.

15 cents for every dollar an hour is still way better than 4 bucks a gal for every 15 dollars and hour. The future may be now but it sucks.
