That is correct! As long as the rim can seat completely, you’re good.

Oh and I forgot to ask, but do you think a 4 or 4 1/2 metal grinding disc would be fine? That's just what I have on hand.

I would use a 4.5” grinder but would recommend making the run to Home Depot or Lowe’s for a 4.5” flap disc for better use. You could try a grinding disc but I don’t think it will do what you want.

Gotcha. I'm assuming a flap disc would get a cleaner edge on it then. I may have some sort of flap disc but I'd have to check. May give the grinding disc a try and if it's a no go, then off to home depot! I'll figure something out.

Sounds like a relatively easy fix of either getting a machine shop to mill out ~2mm from each wheel, or removing some material from the rear hubs.

if you’re not interested in doing either of those. I’d be interested in figuring out a way forward to take those off your hands for you! Im down in Yuma, but a trip up to PHX is very doable

This is a known issue with mounting newer 4Runner Pro wheels. Nothing wrong with the wheels. Older ones (2020 and prior) don't have this issue. I put 2020 4Runner wheels on my truck and the bore was fine.

In this particular case, thin spacers are a reasonable and safe idea. Not a bad idea and certainly not a very bad idea.

I bought from them too. I’m sure you can get them plenty of places, I’d maybe just get a reputable brand and ones with good reviews.

Honestly if I were you, I’d put the wheels on with the stock lugs before you go buying them. I was about to but had the stock lugs put on with the new wheels and I thought the chrome complimented the black nicely. All personal preference though.

I just checked my rear wheels for this gap. I didn’t see any gap on my set up but I have the wheels (see pics). Not sure what to do?

You don’t have the wheels that have the issue.

I guess I got confused between the wheels with and the wheels without the issue.
    Thanks.

There is a Tacoma listed on a dealer site that has the 21+ TRD Pro 4R wheels installed.

I wonder what they did if anything to get the wheels to fit properly?

I’m guessing the newer model for the trd pro wheels only have the problem not the order model ones. I bought the order trd pro wheel ones because it it was the ones that came out with the matte gray color which I thought would go good for 22 lunar rock trd off road.

I haven’t had my front wheels off in a while, do the front hubs have a chamfer to them? Meaning to ask - The fronts wheels don’t have an issue correct?

Did I f up on that side view pic? There’s still plenty of mounting surface right? No reason to worry I hope? That’s the closest I ground to the hub and that’s what I did starting off before I got the hang of it.

test fitted my FR TRD wheels on my '17 TRDOR and both front and rears dont seat correct. I would like to hear from people who remedied this with wheel spacers and how the spacer allows it to fit while still being hub centric. Im not looking to go the axle flange grinding and dust cap removal route just yet. I have found a shop that says they should be able to machine my wheels correctly but of course the head machinist was not there to confirm.

update: ended up not having to machine wheels. While they did fit tighter than the OEM off-road alloys all i needed to do was hit the hub flanges with a wire wheel to remove crusty oxidation. Applied anti seize to the hub bores and the shanks on the lugs and they walked on perfectly. No vibrations on road test.
