With the higher gas prices now expected to reach $6 a gallon by the end of the year also expect much higher food prices.
Expect to use 1/2 of your income to pay for food!
A can of coffe will be $60
    gallon of Orange Juice $45
    a box of pasta $10
    a can of corn $8
    hamburger $30 lb
    hot dogs $20 package
everybody should stock up on at least 1 year suppy of food, like a can of coffee and can of corn will keep fresh for a year or more, you can freeze meat for 1 year, I also suggest to stock on the basics such as sugar, flour, rice, (buy in bulk in 50 lb bags rice will keep almost forever)
Currenty I am buying the #10 cans of pork and beans for long term storage.

Please listen to me! prepare for the bleak future!

50% of your income on food,,, can you afford that now?

I hope this is not leading to the whole 2012 thing.
Cause as a God fearing christian, I certainly am not worried about stocking up on food and ammo to delay my ticket to the promise land.

When and if the shtf, I have no interest in buying an $8 can of corn when I can pop a cap in my neighbors forehead and get it for free.

No kidding, if it's $45/gallon for orange juice, my ass will be using my camping water filter for hydration and the .22 or shotgun for food.

... The .40 is for people like matic :p

Seriously though, Utah's dumb nut lawmakers want to raise taxes on food on top of the gas crisis. What a joke. Apparently the Utah population is too large and the best way they have found to reduce it is by starving the poor to death.
