See, there ya go. Can't have too much fun around here or threads come up missing. Stuck in the dark place with Atlantis and Hoffa. Have fun, but don't pick on the popular kids, or may also end up in that dark place.

Good luck with that. I have a tile around my shower and personaly I hate the maintenance of the grout. Next time I'll do a solid wall. A local place does three piece "drop in" units that are pretty cool and are 1000x better than the cheap drop in's that most people think of.

That's exactly what I'm thinking of doing. The guy coming this morning does custom built cultured marble drop ins.

Yep - that is the way to go. Less maintenance, looks friggin good, and if it is a lighter color then the shower won't be a dark hole.

Installed?? Not bad at all. I know my limits - and installing tubs/showers is more than I care to do. Plus, being able to call them and say that it isn't right is priceless. Fixing it on someone else's dime is worth all the money.

Yeah but yours was probably properly installed

My tile shower does not have a liner, or any special drywall or cement board behidn the tile on the walls. IT's simply tiled on the slab and regular drywall :frusty:

...nothinig in my entire house was properly installed....even my countertops in my kitchen were built on MDF (speaker box material) rather than plywood. Tore that all out last year
