Thinking of buying this truck went to the dealership with an Experian credit score of 785, putting $10k down.

1 owner, all service records on CARFAX.

17k miles, 2020 TRD OR 4 door LONG BED

they offered 84 months, 7.29% Apr, with a monthly payment of $498.41.

is this a dumb financial decision? I can wait to buy or put more down, just weighing my options. Thanks

If my math is right that works out to about 52K, sounds too pricey to me.

I think it comes out to around $47k if I paid it over the 84 months. Knowing myself I wouldn’t keep it more than 4 years. I need some financial advice from of you guys.

Really appreciate you dudes on this forum! This place is rad!!

I was seeing 6 grand per year over 7 years = $42K + $10K down = $52K. Seems like you should be able to score a new one for that much.

Exactly! What are they asking for it? When we purchased a year and a half ago, we finally ended up just buying a new one that was a few thousand less than most all of the used stuff with mileage similar to what you're talking about

    7.29% :annoyed:
Is this normal for todays markets and economy? Are 1.99 - 2.99% not possible?

7.29% at 84 months is crazy man. You’re paying a ton of interest. And it’s used…

That is a terrible interest rate. Ignore any talk of monthly payments, nothing else matters other than the actual price of the truck out the door.

Do you know the out the door cost on the truck? If they have not given you that figure yet, get that first.

I personally think you’re definitely overpaying by THOUSANDS. 4-7k depending on addons ect.

Curious as to what state you’re in. Sales tax ect. But either way it’s used with 17k miles. You could buy new for cheaper at a different dealer since this one seems like a scam.

OP said $39,000 including taxes. If I remember correct most of California is high like 8-9.25% so truck itself is probably $36,000 and some change. Decent price for low miles, depends on options. 84 months is dumb. Rates are high, if you have to go out that long you can’t afford truck.
