Maybe they acquired a Dodge dealership, or are moving a dealership they already had.

The one Toyota dealership around here was Thompson wich changed to Ourisman this year. They already had Dodge dealerships elsewhere along with other brands.

Yeah l guess its possible that they could have already had a Dodge franchise elsewhere and are moving it to save money.

If you order a custom built fire truck from one of the large manufacturers you'll be waiting three years. That doesn't mean there is more demand for the product.

If you wanted a specific Tacoma in 2018 you still had to wait for Toyota to build it.

I dunno if there would be a benefit from Toyota delaying the launch of the 4th gen in terms of more spare parts for 3rd gens in the future. In this context I'd like to see the 3rd gen run for at min 10 years. More 3rd gens out there and potentially more spare parts in the future moving forward?

The Tacoma won’t be delayed. We will for sure see the Tacoma on the F1 platform for the 24MY

I agree. The sedans and coupes they change often. But big suv, and pick up trucks, they take their time.
agreed, but can it be something to do with the Covid, chip shortage? They didn’t have enough parts to build cars. According to a lot of people on this forum, they couldn’t go buy a new truck. Had to wait 6 weeks or more for a new truck.

Sorry, not sure where you're coming from. My son is a sales associate at a Toyota dealership and from his perspective, and that of his dealership, now is a GREAT to be in the business. Just today he sold a Rav4 with a $3,000 market adjustment and a Prius AWD with a $5,000 market adjustment. You may not want to believe it, but the demand is there and Toyota is selling pretty much every car they can build.

The Toyota dealership I ride past on Saturday mornings has about a dozen sales associates standing in the parking lot looking like a pack of ravenous dogs.

I can't believe any women are coming there to buy a car.

I doubt if your son's dealership is in the same neighborhood.

Serious question: how exactly is it that most mid-size pickups cost the same as full-size and use the same amount of fuel?

i couldn’t get a generic trd off road. I never even got an allocation. Found a truck in the next state. You can’t sit here with a straight face and say that the fact that Toyota’s production was part of the reason sales are down. Bet their margin took a jump as well.

Then again, I guess the bottom line for the 2024 Tacoma is meeting tighter CAFE regulations. So this must be why there will be a redesigned 2024 Tacoma with a T4 rather that a more natural 10 year refresh cycle for the 3rd gen.

Is a T4 really going to use any less fuel than a NA V6?

Doesn't matter much I guess as it's the emissions first and foremost they're after. MPG's are secondary from what I understand. Apparently the top brass at Toyota are not happy with being forced into this strict emissions direction. They like to evolve and change on their own time frame. I'm sure they would have milked the 3rd gen as long as possible if not for now having to meet these tighter emission standards.

If, generally speaking, a T4 has commensurate performance to an NA 6, why would a T4 emit less than an NA 6?

Demand is down sales are down production is down. Toyota said their profits are down for the year. I'm going to take Toyota's word and believe them.

If Toyota doesn’t publicize it, it’s merely speculation. Just like this next gen. We have a good idea of what it will be but until Toyota unveils it and tells us what it is then it’s anyone’s guess.
