I was wondering about that. Ive also seen the jack extenders but the 2x4 idea seemed easier.. Ive used the 2x6 but that was for a large tractor in a field..

Just make sure you also get good jack stands too.

I'm running a set of 3tons I think are steel, they are solid..

Occasionally I get my friends which are a lot lighter... And like a hollow tube.. with a pin. Any recs on a floor jack?

    Looking good, nice work!!

If strictly talking about floor jacks for home garage, I have some old Craftsman 3 tons back when Sears was still alive. They work but getting long in the tooth.

Future plan I intend to get the Harbor Freight Daytona long reach jack since it extends up to like 24". HF is also coming out with an offroad style jack to mimic the Pro Eagle that should be out soon for like $300 which is a great deal on paper.

If talking about offroad jacking then I currently have a 4Runner jack modified to work with SafeJack extensions. Read this thread, lots of good jacking info and I know this group sure likes to jack around: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/we-know-youre-good-at-jacking.508689/

This too, I currently try use this when my small jack doesn't reach. Couple good scrap pieces sometimes make all the difference.

Sweet I'll look at the thread. Right now 100% garage/driveway jack. The bottle one I put in a screwdriver to twist the rod faster :D
Eventually maybe an off road one. But for now it's the servicing parts and ease of up down..

Yeah, I considered that this may be an issue, but I figured they should have a way to level it. It's a chain shop that's managed by a buddy of mine. Sometimes he's able to bend corporate rules a bit, if that's not allowed. I'll probably give him a call before I go to ask.

The question is do you know exactly where the rear is going to be with the new parts?????

    Very cool

    Only the best :D

You're gonna want that alignment done after you do the rear, not before

Bingo. We refuse to do front alignments on unfinished rigs unless the customer goes ahead and prepays for another alignment to be done after they do the rear. Not taking anymore flak from unsatisfied customers who didn't listen the first time lol

Doubt it. They'd have to put a rear suspension on to get proper readings on your truck (need all 4, even if only aligning the front 2) and then take it off and put yours on..... Which would necessitate another alignment....

Gotcha, thanks for the heads-up on this. I was planning on getting the lifetime alignment, but I don't want to have to get two alignments in a week. I'll call and reschedule it.

Close, not quite. I'll refrain from saying publicly here to protect the innocent who may be bending rules by allowing me to get a lifetime alignment deal on a modded vehicle.

I did give my buddy a call and yeah, he said wait until the rear is done. Going Saturday morning.

And now, back to my regularly scheduled wrenching. Gotta get this done tonight.

I have a question for yall who tinted your windows. How much does it cost roughly? Also is there any tint shops in central Wisconsin that you guys would recommend?

I paid $120 to tint the front two windows with ceramic 20% back in 2020 at New Wave in Kenosha. Hope that helps, can't suggest any central Wisco shops though but I'm sure you have multiple good options in the area.

If I remember right it was right around $250 for 20% on the front doors and 50% on back doors and back window (all ceramic). This was at Tidy Car in Sheboygan early 2020.

Don't settle for anything besides ceramic.

^ what he said. Don’t bother with anything other than ceramic

It’s so nice not needing to put up a sunshade any more
