Do you over night? Cold camping that time of year... I am up for it though!

Just make sure you park the truck in the right direction. So your feet don't get cold.:D

    Y'all are crazy!

If anything, I'd consider finding a cheap hotel for the night, and hitting a nice supper club after the trails.

Damn, I'll be in Florida. Sounds like fun!

I'm not opposed to it but depends on temperatures, snow cover, etc. Would be kind of a last-minute decision.

I'd also say it depends on the route and if anything along the way is even worth seeing that time of year. Wisco has plenty of flat endless barren winter farm fields to stare at without driving 75 miles LOL.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
That part of the state is nice and hilly, or can be. It's definitely interesting but I'm looking at about 125 miles one way. Would be a last minute decision for sure.

Can confirm it’s a scenic area, wife and I hike around there regularly. I live about 10 minutes away from Lowden and would be happy to host any kind of gathering at the house/shop or meet at one of the fine local establishments in Byron if anyone wandered down

Need your guys opinion. For the stuff we do here in the area, and keep in mind my stock suspension and tires, would I need more than just the front skid plate e.g. transmission, transfer, rear diff?

It depends on how much you want to play in the rocks. If you're going to try the rock garden at the Pipeline, or want to get into more technical stuff, then I'd get full armor. Otherwise, we have stock trucks with us all the time. So far, nobody has broken anything.

Like @Thatbassguy said it really depends on how adventurous you want to get, but this is the order I'd recommend.

    Sliders
    Front Skid
    Transmission Skid
    Transfer Case Skid
    Fuel tank Skid

Edit - I'd also recommend getting an exhaust reroute before getting the transfer case skid. It'll gain you some ground clearance in the middle of the truck.

+1 to what they said. In addition, I'd say the single most important upgrade you can consider is extending the rear differential breather to a higher point. Some debate if it's really necessary but to me it's so cheap and easy there's really no reason not to do it. How's that old saying go? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

The great thing I found out about this group this past year is, if someone didn't feel comfortable doing something there was no pressure to do it.
I got skids and sliders not to bouncey bouncey off the rocks, but for the unplanned contact.

As @pearing said, " Bounce off this, than bounce off that."
    Pat,
I got it on video from Tigerton.

I'm almost stock and w/o skid plates and have been fine so far. My only "upgrade" was my Wildpeaks that are one size up from stock, adding about 1/2" of added clearance.
I've probably done 95% of what James and Jason have done.
Pretty much the only things I have not done have a very high likelihood of using a winch.

FWIW, I'd love to have skids some day.

    And sliders

And Dobinsons with a few inches of lift

    And 33s

    Perhaps a winch eventually.

Yeah, this group is great and have never pressured me.

Definitely want to make it out more in the near future.
Thanks all for the advice! Pulled the trigger.

Cali Raised transmission and transfer case skids. Already had the front. Their cyber Monday deals were extended.
