Make sure you put a bunch of gun related stickers on the rear window so people know which truck to break into for a free gun lmao

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
I Carry my colt 911 in a antique case... Next to my ww2 50 cal

I hire a team of 16 bodyguards to hold my personal carry items for me while I drive. People think I'm a little extreme for needing a personal platoon whenever I step out for a couple groceries and a burger, but I like to stay prepared.

Is it vintage? Does colt even market the 911 as a 911? Just curious, I'm not a hand gun guy. We shoot shot from a 1/4 mile where we live.

Head rests are detachable... Why would anyone want a lock box that could be removed so easily?

Because if you locked it to the seat then people would think there's a gun in it, duh

I couldnt possibly lace that with enough sarcasm.

Either keep the thing on you or don't. The fuck good is it in a vehicle where it could be stolen and not on your person should you need it. My buddy who's a mechanic comes across more "car pieces" than the average armory personnel runs across in a day, that shouldn't be the case, do better people.

I have a circa 1943 Remington Rand full size government 45cal 1911 that is either on my lap or laying on the passenger seat next to me when I travel thru the active war zone aka Houston, TX. When I leave the truck it goes with me.

I think the general thoughts are this -

    1. I'm licensed to carry but some places I need to go - I can not; (post office) so I need a place I can store the weapon while inside doing my business.
    2. Carrying OWB/IWB, strong side for the majority of people means between your hip and center console - not the easiest place to draw from should you legitimately need it. We're else can I keep a 1911 while in the vehicle and handy should I need it right now?

Those are 2 legitimate reasons why I can see this question getting asked. As to answers - that kinda has 2 separate ones for each instance. If I'm looking for #1 - I'm thinking a bipometric or some other type of safe locked into the glove box or mounted under the passenger seat. If it's #2 - there's a pile of options obviously. Molle, magnets, simple kydex holster screwed into the door pockets etc.

I think people confuse keeping your gun in your truck while you are traveling and just storing your gun in your truck all day while you are at work and shopping. I personally keep mine in a kydex holster I made in my console. However it is never in the truck when I am not. 20210906_174644.jpg
Some of us do not have body shapes that are conducive to carry in our waist bands while we drive and shoulder holsters are fine when you can cover with a jacket but not real practical in the warmer months.

This works for me and i also have a keyed safe under the passenger seat for longer term storage and or more risky environments. When i leave the truck so does the gun in most cases

Right, but that doesn't mean you can't take it off and place it in a different location when operating a vehicle. I carry most all of the time, but when I hop in one of my vehicles, I un holster and place my pistol in the center console. My car (Honda) actually has a nice little spot right in front of the shifter that fits my pistol perfectly.
