1st Gen Dash Lights?

Anyone have issues with the dimmer using LED bulbs in the dash?

On my landcruiser I swapped to LEDs in the cluster but if I turn my dimmer past a certain point the voltage drops below the necessary voltage to power the bulbs and they shut off. Not a big deal but confusing every once in a while when the dimmer gets bumped and I have no lights and have a split second panic before I remember that quirk.

 

That’s just what LEDs do, I have mine set at the lowest possible setting

 

Late reply but for the smaller ones, I just left them stock. Didn't mess with them. They light up fine the way they are. Cheers.

 

there is a good video on the web that shows what all you have to remove and the bulb numbers. You can buy the bulbs in white and reuse the red condom like things. I did my 02 a year or so ago and it was not bad a job.
