Hey folks, 2017 DCLB Sport, 81,xxx miles. I had the SRS warning light come on this week. I’ve checked the 7.5 amp fuse under the dash, and checked the connection under the passenger seat. All seems to be ok. No collisions or reasons I think it should be on.

The passenger seat weight sensor still works. It illuminates on when a passenger sits there, off when it’s empty.

Any ideas on how to reset the light or other fuses I may be missing?

I suppose I should go get codes read if any are stored, but I’ve heard that the SRS system doesn’t hold codes in the ECU and I have to get a special reader for the SRS ECU. Hope that’s not the case. Don’t want to go to dealer.

When I took the trim on my steering column the connection under then steering fell out. Obviously was not clipped properly at the factory. You may want to check and see if that has worked loose. Yellow wires with plug, 6 o'clock under steering column. Good luck.

    True

    Also true.

Very unlikely to be a fuse. Much more likely to be the 'brain' or possibly a connector/sensor.

I don't know if the SRS system has any type extended warranty because it's a safety item (like seat belts seem to) but it's certainly worth asking about.

Get the code and then I'd start looking for rodent damage to the wires.

Although already answered, here's the applicable warranty, found in the Warranty & Maintenance Guide for the Tacoma:
