New transmission TSB software fixed shifting issues!

A cheap one of these or could probably borrow one at Autozone before & after visit to the stealership to see if they actually did it

 

My dealer is telling me I have to pay to have this TSB applied, is this true? If so, how much? I think I was told $160.

 

Are you out of warranty? They were going to make me pay as well, but I showed the service manager how to add months.

 

So how are the new trucks 21, 22 ? Did Toyota ever fix the problem?

Page 1 of the TSB says it's covered under the 80,000 mile emissions warranty.

Update: apparently the TSB doesn't cover all models in any given year, meaning it's not free under the 80,000 warranty. They (Toyota) check VINs for which vehicles are eligible for the TSB and mine doesn't fall into that category. I'm still having it applied as most reports indicate that it's a definite improvement. It's estimated to cost $160.
