The people of the Congo believe we are injecting them with Covid. Conspiracy theories are divisive and dangerous. It sounds like fun to say birds aren’t real, but people are incredibly stupid, and are literally dying from misinformation worldwide. It’s not fun, it’s a nasty, anti-social deadly game.

I’m back. Been lightly cruising the net and making a couple rare comments for the last almost 2 months. Have just felt like shit. The reason - KIDNEY STONES. We came back from our week in Maui (fabulous time) and 2 days later went to urgent care with pain in my left side. Cat scan showed 9 millimeter kidney stones in both kidneys. 9mm is too large to pass. Only option - surgery. First surgery was 10 days later. 2nd surgery was 2 weeks after that. At our ages we don’t bounce back from surgery like we use to especially after 2 surgeries and anesthesia. To make thing’s worse after the second surgery I got a urinary tract infection. Was on antibiotics for 3 weeks. Until after the 2nd surgery I lived on opiate pain meds. I hate that crap, they make you feel weird, but if you’ve ever had a kidney stone the constant pain is extremely intense. You do what you need to do to quell the pain. A nurse told me kidney stone pain is worse than labor pains. After the surgeries they put stents in me. The last stent I got to remove it 5 days after surgery. Pulling something 20” long out of your ….. is to say the least most unpleasant.
This is the first week I’m back to normal feeling (still a little tired, fatigued and weak). Started exercising for the first time in almost 2 months - bicycling, weights, boxing/working out with the heavy bag, walking. Doing about half of what I was doing pre kidney stones. Gonna take awhile to really get back to it.
I’ve had kidney stones for over 25 years, almost all have passed but this was the worst by far. Looking forward getting back to normal and hopefully soon getting back out waterfowl and pheasant hunting.
    Anyway Im back, kind of.

There's not much kool-aid in Nebraska. And you must know one of an extremely small number of people. It's simply not true that any significant number of deaths from vaccines have occurred.
You asked, we answered: Does VAERS list deaths caused by COVID-19 vaccines? | Nebraska Medicine Omaha, NE

This is from a Science 2021 article
How many people have died from the vaccine in the U.S.? - COVID-101
Between December 2020 and July 19th, 2021, VAERS received 6,207 reports of death (0.0018% of doses) among people who got a vaccine, but this does not mean the vaccine caused these deaths.

Common sense says take the vaccine, wait 15-30 minutes for reactions, and go on your way. Safe as you can be for yourself, and others. I've had every one, and am miraculously, still here.

I've had covid twice. The first time I got the antibody treatment and went from miserable to pretty damn good within hours. My doctor died from it just before the vaccines came out. He was a friend.

My sister-in-law just got the last vaccine and the flu shot at the same time in the same arm and she had a reaction that caused her arm muscle to atrophy slightly. But then if anyone in the world is going to have a reaction it would be her that gets it.

Other than that I know hundreds of people that have had the vaccine and none have had any more reaction than a headache or muscle aches... and I've heard of no one dying from it. I do know of several people that have died before the vaccines came out or after refusing to get a vaccine.

But I also heard that paranoid people have developed a special immunity. (eyeroll)

i am sorry to report that my own son believes your misinformation also. He forgets that as an Army Veteran, he’s had more vaccines in a short period of time than five non-Vets receive in a lifetime, but then, he’s a survivor of traumatic brain injury, so tell me more about your miraculous luck.

Ken, I’ve been there, done that. Chronic stones for many years, and have experienced all you have reported and maybe more. The scariest time was when I had septic poisoning from the stent. You need not have invasive procedures at all. Sonic blasting is non invasive, painless, poses no danger of any kind, delivers immediate relief, after which you simply piss out sand for a few days. I’ve had sonic blasting 6 times now, always with happy results.

Alan I had the sonic lithotripsy about 10 years ago. For me it didn’t break up the stones as small as it was supposed to and I passed little chunks of stones for a week. Each stone was so painful i almost passed out each passing. These last 2 times they went up thru my urethra, bladder and into the kidney and blasted the stones with a laser. I think there are various factors involved that determine the best method to bust up them stones. I am going to talk to my urologist when I see her in a week about about sonic blasting of future stones, I’ll see what she says.

Good morning fellow Porchatonians!! Glad to hear you're feeling better @Sprig Ken!! Passing a kidney stone is no fun. Did it once, don't desire to do it again.

Speaking of LG phone, it bring me back to my nightmare. I had an dual screen LG V60 phone that came out in 2020, and it couldn't make/receive calls, I contact LG and I was told their phone business was shut down with no update support. :annoyed:

Ouch. They were never that good at marketing. Their V20,30,50,60 line was actually exceptional in several respects compared to Samsung, Motorola, Google offerings. When your phone doesn't work though, doesn't matter how great the display or audio codec may be.

That's the catch! I kept blaming on the phone company for its poor signal of their newly upgraded nearby 5G tower. Until I got a Samsung Galaxy, it cleared up the mystery.

Nice choice Greg. I hope you post a follow up on your review of the soundbar performance. My sister has one on her TV and it sounds really nice.

Kurt: My son watches Christmas movies during the season. We watched Christmas Vacation last Saturday. There are a lot of decent actors and actresses in the movie.

Ken: Nice to hear you are feeling better and getting back to normal.

I like the Samsung Galaxy phones. I was disappointed that I could not add a memory card in the S22. This is the first Galaxy phone that I could not add a memory card. So far it is not an issue, but I do take a Samsung T7 storage drive with me on vacations so I can off load movies and pictures.

Good morning. Not much to do today. Going to try and see why 3 sets of icicle lights do not work. Checked the fuses and ordered a set of tri wing screw bits. Received the bits last night so I have a fixit project for today. Time for the emissions test on the Avalon. That may happen today, but I am not sure.

Just a little reminder - don't take the COVID bait and end up with a ban. Not worth arguing over and losing your access.

That memory card option do give me that flexibility. I am happy with my choice so far and stay away from LG stuff :fingerscrossed:

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Well, if you can believe it, I finally coaxed a replacement garage door opener out of the folks at Chamberlain. After several useless troubleshooting emails, I answered a couple of their survey requests that I hadn't, and was a little less than kind. Remember, the opener itself was fine, but it had no promised WiFi. So, they apologized, and the new one has arrived. It's going on the BENCH for connectivity testing before I pull off the swap. Todays the day, while it's nice and warm.

Rumaging around in the outdoor Christmas box the other day, I found I had a couple cut pieces of light strings "left over"...hmm, I wonder if it's long enough for...

    20221128_181014.jpg

(I had to cut and solder the strings to make the plugs go the right way for the hangers on the sockets). Then, I found some garland....

    20221128_160307.jpg

Now that's some retired guy putz right there! Oh, I fixed an alarm sensor mounting, cleaned the leaves out of the pool, and put up a thermometer
