Hey all, just got off the phone with Shawn at Rogue and picked up some Kings they had on sale. He’s been super helpful and knowledgeable. Anyways, what else should I grab? Add a leaf or full replacement leafs? Are upper arms required? Keeping stock wheels and tires for now. Not really going to be doing a ton of off-roading, but planning to go camping every now and then. Any advice or links would be appreciated!

For off-road capability, the most important thing is tires.

I have an Icon lift kit set at 2.5” and I don’t need UCAs. That’s being said, it probably wouldn’t hurt to have them. As far as the add a leaf goes, I would prefer an entire leaf pack. When I purchased my lift, I saved and got the add a leaf with the intention of getting a leaf pack and the UCAs at a later date. I don’t do any intense off road stuff. Mostly forest roads and playing around some smaller obstacles and I’ve been fine.

I’ve been reading a lot of reviews on the wilpeaks. I’m thinking of giving those a shot.

A winch maybe, not doing any crazy rock crawling or anything. Are lights really necessary?

I’ll be in marsh land mostly, not going to be any crazy off roading. I’ve read the full leaf is the way to go since the add a leafs sag prematurely but I’m not entirely sure

I would have skipped the kings and bought some tires. Kings are not required for camping trips.

Contrary to common belief, springs do not wear out or “sag” over time. Keep your stock springs unless you are using your truck in ways Toyota did not intend and/or you experience a weakness.

Oh I know, but my question was out of genuine curiosity. I see yellow and clear light options all the time. I read yellow is good for dust, but it’s mostly wet where I live so not sure I can benefit from that.

Lights other than the factory ones are not necessary. They are jewelry.

I got tires on the way next, just getting parts together so I can have my mechanic install everything in one go.

I didn’t know that about the springs. I’ve seen a bunch of broken ones in google searches. Misuse I take it then?

Not Hating at all. I love this stuff. My $0.02, MANY people:
o Love to tinker with lets say special interest stuff (Cars/Trucks, guns, guitars). Cannot leave [x] "Stock"
o It is human nature, to want to feel special
o Like to explore their options before committing to ^ (Can't blame them; the modifications or original special interest item is $$$$)
o Want positive reinforcement on any changes they are considering or already made

That is my experience with the add a leafs. I have a first gen 4runner that the first set of add leafs broke on a trip. The second sagged fairly quickly.
