How are you getting 7-8 L per 100 mixed driving, with 265/75/16 duratracs, doesn’t make any sense.

Mine was pretty accurate with 31”s, about 0.2L per 100 optimistic.

When my truck was stock, well except for 265/65/17 KO2s, I could do like 9 L per 100 only if driving no faster than 100 on highway.

Right now I’ve got a lift, 33”s and about 600# of extra weight. Still can get 12.5-13.5 in city and 11-13 on highway, I’m pretty happy with it.

No way… the rpm’s are shit on the 6 speed auto which is why it feels gutless and constantly hunts for gears. The 10% higher rpm’s on the manual are a godsend. This truck doesn’t have enough power in 6th to keep at 65mph even with the slightest headwind or uphill. The manual fixes that

    Thaaaaats why…

Your settings are set to KM per litre. Not liters per 100 km. So you average 14L per 100, which makes sense.

My display is set to Liters per 100 km and that’s what I’m used to.

Thats with 33” tires by the way, I was impressed.

I don’t believe that. My buddies 19 OR with 265/75/16 KO2s drives great on highway. Transmission shifts great and he gets better MPGs than me, when I was running same tires. Did you drive a 3rd gen auto? These tranny complaints are waaay overblown.

6th gear in a manual is too low IMHO, it would’ve been perfect if it was 200-300 rpm lower.

I owned a 3rd Gen pro it was such a problem that I sold it. I get identical mpg in both.

I get about 20mpg on highway and 12mpg in the city. I haven't gone over 40mph in my truck in a brick since the highest speed limit I've seen in this dang college town in 35mph.

in a brick is my favorite quote

Hm interesting. My buddy had the TSB done, although it drove fine right out of the factory.

Yeah, about 90% of time I drive pretty conservative. I’m that guy doing the speed limit in the right lane haha.

12ish around town and 11 freeway. If I’m very careful I’ve see. Freeway at 14 before but I have to have a tailwind and 65 max.

I recently took a trip and covered some of i80 and trying to keep 85ish I saw it drop to 8-9.

Big block gas mileage Prius power.

Just switched it over to L per 100km and it's at about 13 so around 18 mpg sounds about right now.

Oh I'm totally with you there. The 3.5 makes its power at a higher RPM and the manual lets you have access to that. BUT I'd be willing to downshift to 5th for passing somebody and using 6th for cruising only. AS it is, I can cruise in 6th around 45 mph without lugging. Who knows...

My 2/3 of a v6 always averaged the high 24's. Then, removed air dam, added a camper shell and went up a tire size...struggle to get 20 these days
