This is $3200. Hit a good sized deer coming back from Yosemite. Hood, headlight, and fender are being replaced. The BAMF bumper did its job and the grill survived. We’ll see how much the estimate changes when the shop tears into it tomorrow.

Deer are such chuckleheads around traffic...Really!! I mean it!. They will look you in the eye, and jump right out in front of you.

No, you just dont have a good grasp on how much it costs to repair automobiles. the days of the 69.95 Earl Schibe paint job are LONG GONE! just in paint and materials, it is 300-500 per panel, for just refinish operations. that doesnt inc the price of the part, or the labor in which to replace it. My deer spun around after the impact and left a greasy skid on the rear door. :crapstorm:

Last time I drove I44 from Oklahoma City to St. Louis we saw well over 50 dead deer along the road. It must look like pinball machine at night with 18 wheelers hitting them. Also this years drought has made the deer come out of the woods looking for food and water.

I now honk at any deer I see at any time of the day or year. I think we are way too nice to them. So far, they seem to understand and go the right direction, but as some have mentioned they are complete idiots.

They have patterns and if you happen to be in the middle of their crossing they can and will run over your vehicle. I’ve hit them twice and had too many close calls to count. They come at odd angles sometimes running parallel with you then turn into the car. It makes no sense because it’s driven by hormones.

    I doubt that's totaled. It's a 2022 truck that's got a lot of value to it.

honestly...that's not that bad! still 8k or more in repairs but yeah, not bad. I mean my deer hits ranged from dented quarter panel (low speed in old accord) to it looked like my front end blew up (medium speed in ls430)
