I passed a stone right around the time my mother died last year. I almost passed out from the pain. I sympathize with you folks who deal with them on a regular basis!

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
One of my brothers was/is the same. He did not get the vaccines. Guess what, he got covid bad enough to be hospitalized for 3 weeks. He is a Viet nam vet, officer in the Navy and Swift boat commander. Now being as I was flying AF -out of Kadena 5-6 times a month) over the same areas he was in and had to get all kind of shots (all the time-from the government), I know he was required to get many shots as well, did he balk at shots then NOOOO. Fast forward to current times - No shots -different result. Thankfully he DID survive! I will let this story rest here.
BTW I have gotten all of the shots available - no virus -no reactions from the shots.
One more thing -- LETTING EVERYONE KNOW -- There is a new and improved Pnuemonia shot available, got mine a couple weeks ago at the VA

Hey Mike, need some advice please. Appears my QuickCar tire pressure gauge has finally announced its retirement.

Thoughts on a replacement? Another QuickCar...maybe a Longacre? What are you using? Tried any digitals you've liked?

Been a lot of talk here of late about sound bars and other electronic devices. I didn’t see Bose mentioned but that’s what I have. High quality, reliable, great sounds. I have Bose in the great room and my den/man cave where we have TV’s. I even have Bose outside on the patio where I like to relax and listen to music while grilling or enjoying a wee dram of whiskey. I’m sure there are better but I like my Bose and even if there are better these old ears couldn’t tell the difference anyway.
TV’s are Samsung’s, period, end of discussion.
Phones and other electronics, my wife is the IT expert in our house and she made a decision to go with apple all the way a few years ago. So we have iPhones, iPads, iPod, I laptops, and I computer and everything else I. Have never had one fail, never a problem. I realize it works for us but isn’t for everyone.
I mentioned whiskey earlier and just realized I haven’t had a drop of alcohol for 2 months since the beginning of my kidney stone experiences. May have to remedy that in the next couple days.

Absolutely the worst wifi configuration app in the world, but I GOT IT. And now have a box of spare parts to stash somewhere.

Doing pretty good, thanks. Thankfully didn't have bad symptoms. Bad cold-ish type. Hoping I'm on the upside of this thing and it doesn't get worse. How does this thing progress? Guess I should ask Mr Google....

How long was it until you started feeling better, and the symptoms stopped appearing?

    Evening all:

Sorry to hear that Sue :(, it took a while and a couple of variants for it to get to me.
Like Mike, about a week until back to normal, started with a little bit of diarrhea initially, then low energy and some upper chest congestion and sinus drainage, sort of like a mild flu. My buddy was about the same as me, hopefully that's the extent of it for you also, stay safe!
I would tell you that you should quarantine in a tree stand for the next 10 days, but you don't hunt! :D

Carl, thanks. I was asking because I'm feeling much better today. No chills today (never had a fever), not coughing as much, not as much congestion, energy returned today, main issue I have is chest/rib pain from coughing. Was wondering if more symptoms would appear now....

My spouse and I (both mid to late 60's) consider ourselves very lucky to have avoided Covid. She works in a Hospital setting and has been boosted as well as I. We wear our masks when out and about shopping and at the movie theater. We wipe down the theatre chairs and carry hand cleaner with us to use after shopping and whatnot. I got my 2nd booster a week or so ago,
only side effect is I got constipated for a day or two....man, that sucked! And this from a guy that enjoys his time in the "reading room" at least a couple of times a day! Stay well!

I'd avoided it, too. I wear a mask when out and about. Son and DIL are very careful.... he said they went to dinner last week.... luck just ran out. Stay safe

Glad you are feeling better. My wife and I had it last summer. For a week or so it was like a bad cold. The symptoms diminished after a week but we were tired and fatigued for a couple weeks after that. Sounds like yours is mild and you are past the worst and on the road to recovery. Just take it slow for awhile and take care of yourself.

With all the publicity and social media reporting, I wonder if anyone has put together any kind of comprehensive data on percentage of the population that has had Covid. You hear so many say they had it, but because you don't hear of those who never had it, you can't know percentages. Even if we took a poll just on this 60+ thread, there would be those who never saw the poll because they were down with Covid, and those with an agenda who would make a false report. Reports of deaths also, who actually died of what cause is notorious for being reported incorrectly. Attending Physician may never have even seen the corpse, and just puts down his unfounded opinion.

Are masks effective against Covid? Everyone has an opinion, I might as well give mine. I think masks are effective when passing pedestrians on the street. In an enclosed area, everyone breaths second hand air, so not so effective. Hand cleaner? Maybe if done almost continuously, because we are constantly touching something and then our faces. Staying out of crowds, a resounding YES. I used to go shopping 3 times a week. Now, I shop once every 10 days. My wife and I only wear masks when in Medical facilities, and when entering a restaurant. Social reasons more than safety reasons. All our relatives have had Covid, but their lifestyles put them at risks that we don't have. Being too old to be out and about like we used to, and we don't overexert ourselves as the younger crowd may be prone to doing, and yes, you were waiting for this... We have had all our vaccines, but there are there are those who take all the risks and yet they are apparently immune. Go figure.

I think it really depends on the individual and the variant. I had a dry cough - more like a head cold overall - but my cough lasted for month after I tested negative (about 10 days after symptoms). Lynn had more of a wet cough and a mild fever and her symptoms pretty much cleared in a week except she felt fatigued for another 10 days. Hope your symptoms clear quickly!!

    ...and good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

No one has ever been able to pin covid down to "do this, don't do that", and never will. There will always be yet another variant, or something else altogether. We all have to live our lives the way we see fit. I'm grateful this great country of ours has stepped up and provided us with ongoing vaccinations for this scourge. The real trick is to convince people to get them. I guess no one reads American history. Welp, we have ours, and so far, it's working.
