As far as property line discrepancies:

My old neighbor to the south of me (rest her soul, cancer sucks) hired a landscaper to remove old flowerbeds from her back yard. She'd only been there maybe 3yrs total. He's the same guy that mowed her lawn. Only problem is that he removed them and dumped them on my property in a spot where I run my loader/flail mower through once a year. Old boards with nails sticking out of them, plastic junk, old garden tools, etc... I noticed it because I walk my perimeter once a week, and his chosen dumping spot was right near a hidden trail that me and my wife frequently use when we go for a walk onto a nearby backroad. I saw the landscaper dude out on her yard with a Kubota several days in a row. This comes into play quickly because I noticed Kubota sized tire tracks leading into the bushes on my land.

I talked to her about it and quickly realized two things: 1) she had no idea where the property line was, 2) she had no idea that the debris dumped on my property was from her back yard.

So I went down one day after work, pulled it all out of the weeds and piled it about 5' on my side of the property line, but in an area that her landscaper keeps mowing. Technically, it's state ROW, as the pin for our joined line is back off the white line about 15' in that location, but the debris was over the line into my land. I saw her staring at it one day as I drove past, and got home to a message stating that "it looks like you piled all of that junk out here because you think it's mine, and after looking at it, you might be right. Let me call my landscaper and I'm REALLY sorry about this!"

I told her no problem, get her money back and I'll get rid of the junk.

After she passed, the house sat vacant for a few months, I was so busy with life that I didn't get a chance to go mark the property line 100%, but I did drive some thick, bright silver steel 4' posts over the property pins in three locations. But I'm certain that they mow several feet into my property line in a few locations, one of them obvious since it's their back corner pin and one of my pins (on the same line, but mowed into my land probably 5' or so).

I wanted to cut a walking path on my side of the line so I can easily watch that edge, and I'd love to put a short welded wire fence up. But life got in the way, summer disappeared, and new people moved in quickly. Now I'd feel weird cutting that line because it's like 2' off their driveway and it'll look like I'm spying on them lol.

Edit: I sound unfriendly, which is quite the opposite. I just prefer people stay off my property, especially if they're dumping crap.

Don't feel that way, it's your property, you paid for it. That's my biggest fear when I eventually buy property out in TN would be encroachment. Orange bands wrapped around trees can be cut or removed but driven stakes into the ground are more permanent.

Found a small can of black paint from the 20th century and finally found some moistness about 3/8” deep to make the handle look like it has a grip.

Here's a pics for y'all. Anything look off to you about this?

Quick background- '64 Massey 35 Utility, Continental z134 gas engine. Was mowing field, started to feel down on power. Temperature was good, oil level full, coolant full, radiator not blocked, everything was fine but it just felt sluggish. So to mitigate the risk of blowing it up, I shut it off in the field and left it to cool down.

Next morning, went out to start it, it turned maybe a quarter turn and stopped. Like, hard stop. Tried in neutral, tried to engage PTO and bar it over off the PTO shaft, forward and backward, no dice. It's locked up tight, no movement in either direction. I checked the front mounted hydraulic pump, it spins freely. With the trans in neutral and PTO engaged, I can spin the trans over, so it's not that. This motor is like 6:1CR, so generally when the trans is in neutral I can spin it over by the fan blade. No dice.

I pulled the valve cover, this is what I see. Something sticks out to me, I posted on a few tractor forums and so far two people mentioned what I see. I'd like more eyes on it. Pics:

I only feel weird about it since it's super close to their house. I'll defend my property line until the bitter end, I just think maybe I should make it a point to meet the new neighbor before I go out and start hacking a path through there less than 15' from his house.

What holds the washers on the end where the springs are?

I'm guessing it's the bottom end that is locked up. Could have spun a crank or rod bearing, could be anything really.

Supposed to be cotter pins there, one is broken, other is partially broken.

I was kinda thinking spun bearing too, but when I look at the rockers, they're super close to the same height and angle... almost like the cam snapped. I've read several times now about cams snapping in this engine... So not out of the realm of possibility.

How was the oil pressure when it started losing power, or does it have a gauge? Looks a little dry around all that to me. I would think there would be tiny puddles of oil in places.

Oil pressure was 35psi. Now that you mention it, it does look dry. It has been sitting for probably a month, and I've moved it twice so oil could have drained back. But you're right, it does look exceptionally dry... strange...

Edit: I checked oil pressure and coolant temp before I shut it down.

That's what strikes me; that's almost identical to an IH C124; that should be dripping with oil if it's run recently. I would expect that if a cam had snapped there should have been some expensive-sounding noises that accompanied the stop. I wonder if maybe the cam gear has cracked? A wiped bearing would explain the odd angle of the rockers.

A full tear-down with photos is required!

Ugh.. the back up camera caught a quarter sized wet spot on the garage floor as I was backing in the other night.. turns out it's the transfer case input shaft seal. The dealership wants a pile of money to replace it but it's gotta be done. I haven't seen 1000 threads on here about it so I'm guessing it's not a common problem. Hopefully it's a replace and done issue and not something that's going to keep repeating itself.

    Can't like that!

Haven't looked at it too closely, but that feels like a fairly big job - you'd have to split the case wouldn't you?

I honestly don't know. The dealership is gonna handle it and I'll have to hand them a stack of cash.

True, I'm not saying that you should be a dick about it. Personally, if I'm going to be living next to someone for any amount of time, I'd introduce myself to them and build up a little rapport before asking anything from them.
