With your hub spacing the road 1/1s are your only option.

Unless you're really givin'er you should be fine. Even if you are givin'er you should be fine.

When he sent me the list of hubs that would meet my spacing needs, I didn't realize that the only 1/1 option was the road hubs. Failed in my due diligence to understand what I was agreeing to.

With it being rigid, no plans to thrash with this one...I'll keep my fingers crossed the road hubs will hold up.

    Absolutely!

Bicycles have been around for two hundred years now, and I have a feeling they will be around for hundreds more.

Mental health professionals everywhere should take a clue, and start putting their depressed patients on bicycles.

Building up a new one, which should be ready before Christmas.

Cool thing, the first bikes were a similar concept to a scooter or strider kids bike with a high seat, that would probably explain them best.

I might be headed to Jarrods on Saturday with my brother. I’ll let you know if he or I have to bail.

Keep in mind, if it rains at all at Jarrods that park basically shuts down. Sure if it rains at wind rock it’s a rough day, but it’s not a wasted trip.

It’s because it’s mostly jump lines. The trails would get absolutely destroyed ridden in the rain.
    RideBHM is the same way.

One of the owners of Ride BHM said they wouldn’t shut down for rain. Only for lighting and wind.

Let me rephrase, RideBHM has select trails open after rain.
It’s just not worth going to me if it rains, flow and jump lines close.

Trails like punch and drift stay open.

Oh yes. Bone shakers, penny farthings, and early brakeless Fixies with skinny frames and flimsy wooden wheels. It’s amazing that the bicycle forum guys are still building all that crazy stuff.

As for me it is Frankenbikes but here’s the current bike situation.

My aluminum bike (the AL-U-Mini) is not operational quite yet. It still needs structural work. Also nobody could possibly ride with the Seat that low.

From left to right you see my wife’s red Taiwan Nishiki, my sister’s purple Walmart Roadmaster, The Trek framed. AL-U-Mini, The Huffy Leftover Bits Bike, The black Manhattan “Green” Canal rescue bike, my daily rider: the Lengthy Insanity custom Mongoose, Flyaway, the Western Auto Wayfarer Flyer, the fake Schwinn framed Sting Gray, and Baggins the Kawasaki Nomad 1500.

The internals are all the same. The differences are largely aesthetic and dimensional. The road hubs will have a bit less hub shell material but nothing I'd lose sleep over.

I appreciate your insight. That's why I like coming to this thread, you all know more than I do and it's great to have this resource readily available. I won't give it another thought.

I'm keeping an eye on the weather a few times a day, I'm thinking about going Saturday and Sunday and just getting a cheap hotel room up in Oak Ridge.

Would be nice if that rain either comes before or after Saturday because I'm a bitch and not super keen on riding Windrock when it's muddy as fuck to be honest. Saturday is probably the only day I'll ride

With that being said, Windrock XC is pretty dope regardless of conditions

No problem, like I said. I'm planning on going, but ultimately weather will decide.

The trails should be cleaned and somewhat prepped for Windrock standards, there's the free race league Sunday there.

Any suggestions on bedding Magura brakes? Got some MT7's that feel like shit and I know it's something I'm doing wrong. Sounds like bedding one brake at a time is the right move.

I'm doing a project for fire class and I am doing a saftey presentation. My topic is how to fit a bike helmet. I see so many people not wear them or wear them wrong, anyone got any short (seconds long) bike crash videos or bashed up bike helmets or bike crash/injury photos I could use in my powerpoint? Rather than search the internet. It's going to be used just for class.

I'm happy to give you credit, or remove your name if you'd prefer. I don't have any crash photos of myself.. since I'm usually laying on the ground. I also only have a small crack in my bike helmet from my earlier this year crash.
