Hi! So I’m hoping someone can help me! I want to get my husband a remote start for his Tacoma for Christmas, but not sure what one is the best/will be compatible/or anything. If someone can help even point me in the right direction, I would really be thankful! It’s a 2014. I can get any other info if needed. And it doesn’t need to be professionally installed, I’m sure he’s more than capable, he’s done everything else on his truck. Thanks y’all!

Thank you for the fast response! Would this be the right thing to order?

Yes that one will work and fits his 2014. The picture to the right with the one silver remote provides a chime confirmation that the truck is running (2way) where as the one you selected does not (1way). All depends on your budget.

That’s a Very nice gift!! Merry Christmas to you both!!

One thing to check…look at his actual Key and make sure there is a letter “G” stamped into the metal, just where it enters the plastic.

Looks like the right one. Just double check the compatibility list:
    • Automatic transmission only.
    • Key must have letter "G" stamped on metal shaft
    • 10th Letter of VIN must be a B, C, D, E, or F
    • Not compatible with push start models
    • Vehicle must have power locks
I got the phone app control module so I can also start the vehicle from anywhere, and that included gps location too.

I installed one of these on my daily driver took like an hour including programming 3 years later still works great. I like not having an extra key fob and this system was plug and play.

I have a 12 Volt Solutions. Remote has feedback (chime) that remote start was successfully activated, and a flashing light on the fob indicating that hte engine is running. Chime after the 15 minute timer indicating shut off. Range is incredible. I installed myself and I am not very skilled with this sort of thing.
