My coworker, to be so smart he does some of the weirdest stuff.

Monday before I left he ask if I knew where the packing tape was, told him I saw it in the bosses office. He said his windshield has a crack and he wanted to try and slow it down o_O

I just went out and looked and the tape is bubbled up and the crack is 2" past it

Exactly what I told my boss. He'd be better off to cover the entire windshield in duct tape until spring.

Price just went up. You have to make people like that pay the pain in the ass surtax. Either they make it worth your while, or they get lost.

My father in law has been a general contractor for 35+ years, a good one. Hes built custom homes, townhouses, apartment complexes etc...now in the twilight of his career his crews do kitchens and bathrooms and the odd here and there job. He says its maximum bang for the stress/time alloted.

My neighbor has a lean-to shed like thing connected to his house but not up to code. He wanted it ripped down because he was about to sell his house. So he asked me to have my father in law come give him an estimate.
My father in law hit him with the I dont want to pull my crews out of this neighborhood and off these 3 jobs price and my neighbor got a little nasty. FIL told him or you can always do it yourself with a grin. Some people just don't get it.

    Dang this thread moves FAST!

Ran about a month ago and I moved it (towed it) to two different locations. Shane mentioned that as well, that it looks dry. At least it's clean, lol. Nothing expensive sounding, just down on power. Still idled perfectly, no odd noises, upper and lower rad hoses had a good temp differential across them, radiator nice and warm, temp gauge showed 190*, oil level good.

I'll be pulling the head regardless, I'll wander back in here and post pics for y'all entertainment.

Yeah, I don't see them outside. Like, ever. Kinda weird. If they do notice me at all, it's only when I walk the path cut about 15' from the property edge, a mowed path I walk my dog around. She loves it out in the field, lots of smells. Good idea.

Ugh. I was hoping not. Oh well, if it ends up being a spun bearing I'll have to get the motor pulled out and see about rebuilding it in my basement where it's warm. Would be a good time to find the LPG flat top pistons to up the compression a bit.

Nope, these pics are immediately after I pulled the valve cover. The thrust washers were in the exact locations you see. No clue how the cotter pins broke that hold them on. Cylinders are clear, no oil in them (aside from drips in #4 coming past one of the valve stems)

It's all gears, no chain. The radiator is still full and no oil mixed in. I'd imagine that if the headgasket let go that there'd be milkshake everywhere.

Here's some pics from the repair manual:Head z134.jpg Timing z134.jpg

On an unrelated note, last year an old farmer friend brought me a large gear that went on the crank to drive the cam out of one of his tractors. A couple teeth were missing. He ask me to weld it up and grind them back on. I said let me save you and me some trouble, it will NEVER hold

Follow up on my stolen hitch insert....FOUND IT!!!

Was in the grocery store and came out and noticed it in a hitch on another truck. I took it out and put it back in mine. Dude walks up and ask what am I doing? I said that is mine, I made it. He said his wife gave it to him. I said she's a thief.....that was the wrong thing to say

He came at me, we got into it, apparently someone else called the cops while we were trading punches.

Cops get there and separate us, I explained my side and pulled this photo up. They let me keep it and away I went. They were putting cuffs on him when I drove away..........

That's all a lie. Cole and I went hunting Saturday and I spotted it laying on a hill going down to the food plot. I guess the pin somehow came out and it just fell out

Ginger went into the dealership and about 3 hours later came out whole again with no more leak. It wasn't cheap but it was better to leave the work to the professionals!

Strange your regular driver did not back up to the dock like every other time.

Was it a tiny piece one hand carry. Never in the office before?

Fun day for me. We had a storm blow through so I’m working it. Long day but I’ll take the 24 hours of OT!
