2010 Toyota Tacoma Alarm

Hey everyone

I have seen this posted before but did not find an answer. My Tacoma would start because of the cold. I disconnected battery cables to clean them and when I reconnected… all hell broke lose. Alarm will not stop going off no matter what I try. Haven’t been able to find the fuse connected to that. Any ideas?

 

Most likely an aftermarket alarm system, I've never seen the factory system do that.

Have you tried unlocking the door with the key and then starting the truck?

 

My 1st gen Tacoma had a factory alarm, there is a sequence to turn it off. So search for that maybe. I don’t remember exactly what is was but it was something like ,key turn on , open door, key off . Stuff like that.

If it’s a factory alarm then you should be able to find something, aftermarket, you will need to know the model.

 

Yeah I’ve tried to unlock with the key then start the truck. It will start but shuts down shortly after. I’m guessing it is after market but my fob does have the Toyota logo FRW. I’ve seen some videos on how to uninstall the alarm but don’t want to mess up any other wiring

 

Have you tried looking for a valet button or switch?

Yup found the valet button but that did not do anything. Held it down had car on and off then released still alarm blaring

 

I don't know then, your gona have to find the alarm control box and see what kind of alarm it is.

 

What does the button look like?
A lot of dealerships installed the KARR system.
I have the manual somewhere. See if yours is that system.

 

Thanks for all the help. After doing some further digging I found 2 smart start computers, one big one connected to a 6 tone siren. Whoever had this truck before me had some DUI’s I suppose
