Mine are still enroute... SOON! Made a custom part for the ball joint press today so I can get the worn out ones changed out on my Total Chaos UCA's. All coming together. Moab in March I am hoping.

My Taco has been seeing dirt this week.

The local farmers have been leaving it on the roads. It can get a bit greasy at times.

The only thing is, this dirt has a bad smell to it.

Installed my center carrier bearing drop today and my offroam phone mount, solid mount, I like it. Having a slight vibration on take off since lifting the rear, hopefully that does it20221201_140113.jpg

One of my top favorite mods on the taco, hands down - a beautiful match of form and function. Hope you like 'em!

I'll find out tomorrow when I take it out, let me know if the shims resolve your issue!

Depending on your lift the drop might be wrong ie: too thick or not thick enough.

Tom Woods one piece solved my issues. I have other issues, but that fixed the vibration issues. Lot of money. Worth every penny. @Supr4Lo can vouch for the 3rd Gens...

Most likely has to do with length of the shaft. Longer the shaft the lower the critical speed.

Most likely those bearing drop shims will not fix the vibration at take off. Lots of people complain of that with the Icon RXT leaf pack. I had that pack in option 1 and 2 on my last truck and couldn't get rid of it palying the shim game. Bearing drop, pinion shims, both....

I believe whats happening is at take off the leaf pack is twisting an allowing the pinion to rise enough to put it out of alignment causing the vibration or shutter. Once speed normalizes the pinion falls back into position and the vibration smooths out.

I wouldn't stress on it. People on the internet like to turn a small issue a big one. Also like to complain :anonymous:

With some time under the truck with an angle finder, you should be able to pinpoint the issue relatively quickly. You need the pinion flange pointing a couple degrees below the carrier bearing. In a perfect world, the double cardan joint would have the pinion pointing directly in line but in reality you give it a couple degrees to account for spring wrap.
