Hopefully they weren't getting is confused with the "Wind Chill Pearl" color that came out around the same time. I know that Super White is called Ice Cap now too.

Well, he specifically referenced the 040 colour so if both have the same code then maybe?

Ice Cap/ Super White have the same code of 040. Wind Chill is on its own.

There’s another tread that someone fixed it by spray painting and adding a clear coat layer. Looked brand new. For a 7/8 year old truck, that may be the way to go from a cost standpoint

That's Awesome! Hopefully all affected are covered. Funny they are finally going to look at potentially covering this issue while conveniently changing the name of Super White to "Ice Cap". Lol....

Yeah, so they rename to ice cap so they don’t have to warranty the issue still until enough people claim ice cap which won’t happen since it’s only been around 1 year. Also the whole sunlight thing can’t be true I’ve only seen the main issues being inside door panels ect

Yeah all white toyotas peel, no idea why trucks weren't part of the lawsuit (my guess is they sell a ton of white ones commercially so they didn't want to be on the hook for repaints there).

Yeah the sunlight thing is a cop out. If you go over the truck with a paint meter the thickness is too thin on a lot of the peeling areas. Like 30-40 vs if you test an older GOOD Toyota like a Lexus you'll find the paint is 120 on every square inch of the car.

That’s a good point I am possibly picking up my ‘ice cap’ in a few weeks and think I’m showing up with a paint meter :)
