I installed one from meso on my 05, no grab handles but the kit had a rivet nut you install for the second mounting hole.

I have not installed the sound dampening yet - But for sure it makes a big diff. I am afraid of going down this rabbit hole now. I'm searching amps now! I want more power :)
I do realize the stock head unit barely uses the Wattage these speakers can run, but I think it does sound alot better, and I enjoy listening to music everyday in there, so it's a cheap no brainer.
Make sure you get the correct adapters, because any new speakers will be thick enough to clip the window, and the adapter pushes them out a couple inches. I learned that the hard way.
I'm getting good at taking the door panel off and on!

Was the VVT work and gaskets preventive maintenance or was something in need or repair? Just curious as my truck ages what I should be considering besides the basics I'm doing now.

Unfortunately I’ve seen that one and it looks like it only fits a double cab.

Agreed! I desperately want an overhead panel. My 05 does not have any sort of grab handle, except in the front.

Dang that’s a great option! I primarily want an overhead though, to keep the windows open for me to see and my dog to look out. But if I can’t find one, this will likely be my route.

Thank you for this, but I’ve checked it and the OGFAB are for 1st and 3rd gen only.

Do you have any info or photos for the install? Did you have to drill at all? I just want something above my head and doesn’t crazily impact my view through my windows.

Looks good!!! May I ask how many spray cans were needed to paint the liner. Also how durable is the paint ?

It was more preventive than anything else. I bought the truck with over 100,000k and didn't know how regular the oil changes were. If you know the engine history and keep up with maintenance the VVT filters and solenoids should last the life of the engine. The throttle body and intake gaskets I replaced because I had both off for cleaning.

Did you sound dampen just the doors, or other areas as well?
Will just the doors be a big improvement alone?

I did everything but the floor, and now I want to do the floor the more I hear road sound from there, but literally nowhere else. Doing the doors and the roof are huge improvements on their own, but be prepared to be annoyed after a year of listening to road noise :D

Yes. Not only is it not a 2nd gen (which this thread is about). That has almost as many miles as my 2015 2nd gen and I paid much less than that with and it came with many quality expensive upgrades (StopTech big brake kit, TRD supercharger, and much more)

see if theres a brace in the back where the handles would go and rivet nut them in.

I am pretty sure that my dad's 2005 TRD OffRoad has driver and passenger A-pillar grab handles.

This is exactly how you install it, there is a square hole you insert a rivet nut into. You do need to cut a hole in the headliner. I have the meso kit installed on my 05, but I wish I bought a standard molle pattern one, the hex pattern is not great for threading the molle straps through.

This is for the roof area in the behind the front seats.

Oops, thanks for clarifying. That's what I get for not visiting the thread in a while and going to the latest page.

Finally picked up everything I needed for the lift!

Went with the Wheelers Trail pro Kit, which seems to just make things way too easy.

Bilstein 6112 w/600 lb coils up front, 5160's and All-Pro Expo Springs for the rear. I also picked up a set of OME UCA's which are incredibly beefy for the price.
