Long time lurker, lots of very cool builds in here.
Picked up my very first ever LEGO set today while grocery shopping.
Might have to get another one now. :p

Its all over but the crying now..............very addictive. Been in love with building Lego sets since a kid. Now nearly everything is really geared to adults. They of course still make sets geared to kids, but the endlessness of MOC builds has now pushed Lego to the stratosphere.

Might not be the right place but saw this on FB, 45lbs of Lego for best offer in Kennet Square, PA. If anyone goes for it or messages them, I’d be curious to hear what they expect to get for this. 891CB8B4-F233-45EB-A01B-CD55CA18F141.jpg

still doing those, they have been a strong hobby since my single digits.
Ordered a lunar lander from Amazon yesterday, and was in Target today and walked out with a John Deere tractor/trailer set. :anonymous:

Bricklink. Tons and tons of resellers on there.
Or get the book and get a couple of the mega boxes of "classic" random pieces that the big box stores have on special for Christmas. See how many parts you can cross off the list that way.

sign up for a VIP account ASAP so you can start racking up points for discounts and stuff. the target purchases will count towards it, you just have to send a pic of your receipt to lego and they add it to your account. all explained on the site under the VIP tab.

Thanks! I had no idea that was a thing. Appreciate the heads up. Got the receipt uploaded and completed the VIP activities. I assume the stuff from Amazon doesn't count?
(glad I stopped at Target today!)

just target and only through the end of the year. but its been nice since they regularly put sets on sale that otherwise wouldn't be. and they have a decent selection (at least around here they're one of the best options for impulse purchases)

I was able to cancel the Amazon order. Went back to Target to get the lander, and figured might as well pick up the Lotus, because why not. Got the points now. :D

The buggy that dug this rabbit hole, and the tractor-trailer that I stayed up way too late to finish.

I've got a few large technic sets but the john deere tractor/trailer is one of my favorites, its just really fun to drive. Eventually I think I may MOC other trailers for mine.

Edit - Futurama is one of my favorite shows, love your username.

In addition to not getting VIP points, there are other reasons to be wary of ordering off Amazon. I’ve read stories where minifigs are missing from apparently sealed sets. I think third party resellers were implicated. Maybe Amazon itself is ok :notsure:

Also, Walmart will sometimes have killer deals that are tough to pass up. They’ll put your set in a plastic shipping envelope which’ll trash the box by the time it’s delivered.

    Happy Building.
