Yea the 3.0 3VZ was the one with the design flaws that caused overheating and head gasket issues.

Maybe the 3.4 had overheating problems, just no where as bad as the 3.0.

I'm not saying that website is 100 percent accurate, I just thought it was an interesting read.

    I really enjoyed the 3.4 in my 97 4runner.

Thanks for the knowledge. I didn't know it was in the highlander!

BTW: apparently Toyota has a vehicle called the BLADE MASTER. BLADE MASTER. BLADE MASTER.

Totally looks like not what I thought it would look like.

Would be nice to see that in Salmon Pink Metallic as the exclusive TRD Pro color for 2024.[IMG]

The general public are always so used to the looks of the present generation of (insert vehicle) that the new most often looks hideous until it becomes the accepted then, later the norm.

Still do not like the new tundra. The newer Chevy silverado (non ev) is also to front design heavy for me. Ford has kept front ends more modest in my opinion.

If we are talking mid size - I think the GMC has the most presentable lines overall.

I've heard several stories of Tundra turbos blowing on the ride home from the dealer. Not sure if they're legit or not, but they've come from multiple people, and they're all 'Yota fanboys, not 'Murican car guys.

Forget the ranger, would be nice to have a payload somewhat close to that of Maverick or even Ridgeline.

Can't wait for the turbos. I've had lots of turbo vehicles over past 20 years. Always a lot of fun, especially at altitude.

pre 1998 5vz engines had headgasket issues. all years had issues with heads cracking between the valves. that being said those issues are actually quite rare and its one of the best engines toyota ever made.

Is that what Lexus calls it? Toyita should offer this color on the Capstone Tundra.

Thanks, my information is secondhand and I second guessed the accuracy of that "delay". I have learned that both A25A-FXS and T24A-FTS Hybrid Max (Pro) will be offered on TRDs. No V35A-FTS will be offered from what I have learned. The GR V6 will be kept as part of the 4th generation lineup, as will the ridiculously outdated 2TR-FE from 2004.

A manual transmission will possibly be offered on the V6 only, but NOT TRD Pro. Better to just wait and see, as this information develops further.

I find it hard to believe that the 1GR-FE will be offered in a 4th Gen.

I dont understand the turbo4 hate. It will outperform the 3.5v6 in ever way possible. It will even fix that "anemic" feel everyone complains about. It will drive better, get better mileage, AND be faster.

Manuals are for sports cars. The only other truck that I am aware of that can be bought in '22 with a manual is the Jeep. That shit is gone.

You can't stop progress. I don't know why you'd want to anyway.
