    Just some stuff...
I'm on 9/7, but that's without the over load, icon three leaf add a leaf and 265/70/17 tires. Sits level.

This may sound like a dumb question but it is Friday so...here goes! If I were to lift the front 2" and add a 1.5" AAL for the rear, would that just level the truck or would there still be a bit of rake/higher in the back?

Easiest way to find out is to measure your fenders to the ground and see where you're at now.

Rear springs are all different and react differently to AAL's depending on age.

2 and 1.5 would retain a factory rake. But its hard to say how your springs are to start with.

Thanks. I was gonna go ahead with the 6112/5160 for a 2" front and the icon 1.5" AAL for Black Friday and then I suddenly realize, "would a 1.5 AAL even work with a 2" front? What if there's something I completely missed?" I tend to overthink things, anyways lol.

I think its perfect, good setup and if you can get it on sale go nuts.

I hate level trucks, 1" rake is perfection lol.

So the 6112s need to be set at 11/9 in order to get the 2” lift? Will 285/70/17 fit?

I would try and confirm with them which version of the 6112 you'll get. I just installed this setup, but I had ordered the 6112s on the 10/8 setting for the 1.7" of lift, which is the updated version of the shock. Wanted to keep a little rake, but not all of it. I received the old version on the 5/4 clip setting that gives about 1.5" of lift.

They were a huge PIA to get the 6112s swapped out for the correct/new version so I just installed what they sent me. Still looks good, but I could've used a bit more lift up front. They did at least update their description to note that they'll send whichever version of the 6112 they have in stock, though.

I had already read your post about this issue and that gave me even more cause for concern lol. I rolled the dice and pulled the trigger earlier today on a 10/8 setup. We shall see what arrives. I couldn’t pass up the current pricing for Black Friday. Thanks for the response regardless. Now to decide on tires….

I would suggest that you read around on this forum more.

285 70 17 most likely will still rub. It depends on your offset of the rims.

most likely will need a fender liner trim, or heat them up and melt them out of the way.

So today I was told that the new 6112 (10 clips) are not compatible with gen2 regular cab tacomas, and could only be run if there was alot of weight in front. Seems odd to me. Is anyone running them?

I have a 4cyl with a regular cab so it will be lighter than the numebrs bilstein puts out for their clips. Advice on how to get to 1.75-18 front lift. My thought is these trucks are a good bit lighter.

    From https://www.autoblog.com/buy/2008-Toyota-Tacoma/

    Base 4x2 4cyl Regular Cab 3,140 Lbs.
    PreRunner 4x2 4cyl Regular Cab 3,315 Lbs.
    Base 4x4 4cyl Regular Cab 3,315 Lbs.

    PreRunner 4x2 4cyl Access Cab 3,635 Lbs.

    Base V6 4x4 Access Cab 3,950 Lbs.

    Base V6 4x4 Double-Cab 4,035 Lbs.

Weight difference from PreRunner 4x2 4cyl Access Cab to Base V6 4x4 Double-Cab is 400 Lbs. and at clip #8/#6 that is 1" difference in lift

Weight difference from 4cyl Regular Cab to PreRunner 4x2 4cyl Access Cab is between 320 Lbs. and 495 Lbs. so I would expect about an additional 1" of lift on the same clip settings so #5/#3 will lift about 2" instead of 1.1"

I say fuck around and find out. Also might be possible to use 550 Lb. springs instead of the 600 Lb.

Who sells 550lbs springs? Is it from bilstein? I would love to try them.

Genious way to think about it I should have thought of. I am thinking based on weight difference between the two in the 05 chart is ~250lbs and .3 inch change that would come to .1 inch per 100lbs with a constant spring rate.

SO, .81" gain compared to 4x4 V6 and .52" over prerunner. ~4/6 for 1.7 gain.

Id still love to know if anyone is running this and if the spring is too heavy. My other options are 5100 which are certainly cheaper, but I would like some better ride quality.

From the pics I've seen online, it looks like the 6112 uses a spring with ground flat ends, which is very much different than the unground stock springs. If that's the case, you can get a pair of king or fox springs for a 2.5" shock in almost any length or spring rate. Just verify that the springs ends are the same and you should be good to go. If you don't like king, eibach has an entire catalog of springs to choose from as well.

Does anyone on here have something they have rigged up to protect the rod on the rears from stone pitting? Like boots or deflectors?

I'm gonna get my 6112/5160s installed at a local truck shop. If I were to replace the needle bearings with the ecgs one, do I need to order the install and removal tool with the part or should the truck shop have tools for these?

Unless it's a place that works on a lot of Toyota's I doubt it, but don't quote me on that. There's a thread somewhere where members are loaning out these tools. You just have to mail them back. It probably wouldn't hurt to just go ahead and order what you need.
