What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Bit the bullet and installed Arb Recovery point . Not as bad to install as some have made it out to be

 

I can’t tell if it’s the picture angle, but it looks low? Does it affect your approach angle?

 

It’s is a weird angle, I was laying on the ground trying to get full size shot

 

let me know if you find something that works. I’ve been shopping around (auto stores, hobby shops) haven’t found something I like yet.

 

I wonder the difference is between the 2nd and 3rd gen. I know the front uses a barn ot velcro but not sure about the tail gate

 

Bed dimensions?

Length and width are the same but the height (rail to roof) is taller on the 3rd gen.

So if you had a 3rd gen topper on a 2nd, it would look too short, and conversely a 2nd gen topper on a 3rd looks like a Swanson's delivery truck.

Mounting hardware should be similar though. If the topper uses the front rail, then you'll need to add that for a 3rd gen.

Nothing major, I added a Console Vault. I plan to leave this truck stock, although I think it is getting jealous looking at the lift kit sitting on the shelf waiting to go on the wife’s new 4Runner. I must resist the temptation to mod….

 

Picked up a Christmas tree today. BillieBars allow me to tie down right over the soft tonneau.

 

No I did not have to do a drop. It’s the perfect height for off-roading and daily driving in my opinion.

I know it’s only been a few days but how’s the CarPlay working out with your promotion product?

 

So far so good! It does take a few seconds longer to 'boot' and connect than the wired connection but by the time I've backed out and belted in it's ready to go. I cannot discern any differences in it and the wired version.
I think I'll get a 90-degree USB adaptor to drop the USB down instead of out, and then I'll be ready to stick it to the top of the center storage bin. It's retail price was only $35, but it appears to not be available right now. Odd.
