Anyone have experience with nhou boss wax? It’s a “semi-permanent” wax only for new vehicles. It’s appealing but I’m a bit leery since I read a lot more about oil sprays like fluid film and wool wax.

Looks interesting. I did WW for the first time this year and it went very well with the gun spray kit. Im pleased with the ease of application.

I didnt watch the vids in the link, but in one pic, its in one of those large oil type containers. Has me thinking its quite viscous and thin. That might be good...or bad..I dont know. I think the consistency of WW is just about perfect tho. Hope someone chimes in with something more relevant. Good luck.

My Jeep TJ came from the previous owner with a fresh NH Oil Treatment and it is NASTY stuff that makes working on the vehicle very unpleasant. The substance also doesn't creep as well as the thinner treatments, so you're relying heavily on the skill and experience of the installer to ensure full coverage. On the jeep, surfaces with NH Oil don't have any rust, but places that the installer missed are pretty obvious.

I had KROWN applied to my Tacoma last year and it seems to be holding up fine. Fluid film, wool wax, KROWN, and others are less viscous than NH Oil and must be applied more frequently...also, some of them may cause your seals to swell over time.

All i can add is i've tried lanolin base fluid flim and it doesn't hold up well in our climate. So far i did my tacoma over 2 years ago with RP-342 cosmoline and its been holding up better than i could of asked for. Imo, anything thats rubberized you don't want.

I've looked into boss wax and waxoyl. I'm going with waxoyl when time comes. Where are you in mass? I have a person that does waxoyl.

The person I'm using is in reading, ma probably to far for u. His price is good if you could get back and forth. Checkout waxoyls website they have a listing of application centers. The place I found is much more affordable than alot. If you want his info pm me for his info and price. Boss wax I think is overpriced for what it is.

I have an appointment with NHOil at their original Chichester, NH location on the 13th of this month to have an application done on my new Tacoma; I'll report back when it's done.

I've heard they do good work at that location and spoke with them also. For me it just isn't worth given the distance and time (leaving truck overnight for boss wax) along with the additional cost. They did offer a loaner but it could only be driven in nh and I live in mass. I'd like to hear how it goes if you get boss wax.

Thinking of checking out this place just for the regular oil undercoat. I liked the guy I talked to and they do a lot of Toyotas. Charge $300

If you go the oil route you will have to keep up with it. Wax or rp342 will require less long term work/follow up. If you going the oil way just do fluid film there's a guy on here in mass that sets up days where he just sprays tacoma's all day at a very affordable price.

I'm not too far away on the border of ma. and ny....i can tell you driving through ma., and north in the winter, you want something longer lasting than a lanolin based rust inhibiter, unless your prepared to reapply it more than once a year. Either that or don't drive when the roads are wet, or slushy. Car wash's don't help either. Gotta use something like cosmoline, or a similar made product that will stay on the chassis much longer.

I used woolwax last year. Went to reapply it this year and most of it was still there. There wasn't a single spot where it had completely washed away.

Mine is also likely a more extreme case. I take multiple 6 hour trips to WI to snowmobile and hit the car wash (with under spray) once a week. For me the woolwax stayed much better than fluid film. But I did woolwax from an air sprayer and FF from a can. So not a perfect comparison.
