IDK then, but the LDA and the coffee warning are both easily turned off and do not require changing programming of the ECU. TPMS if you removed sensors, maybe?

If you could describe what you’re trying to turn off that would help. Everyone is just guessing at what it is you’re talking about right now…
It isn’t lane departure or coffee thing because both of those don’t have memory and procedures have already been mentioned in this thread

Lane departure you just turn on or off on the steering wheel it doesn't come on by it's self. I hate to admit I use it buuuuut when I'm eating pizza on the highway or refilling my ecig I turn it on for a minute. o_O

The coffee cup thing is easy to disable right on the steering wheel too.

Both of those things are easily disabled on my ‘19 though. Nothing’s changed there

cant tell if you are fishing or not...

both are easily changed by touching the push to start button twice without foot on brake, or turning key to on, not started. use the right side buttons on the steering wheel to toggle trough the screens, and options, and set it up like you like it. the 2 things you are talking about both can be permanently disabled, via this method. There have been several things talked about in the thread. You're going to have to be more specific, or use the quote button so we know what you are asking about.

Not fishing … this was a thing on my 19 MT and required a reprogram so it would not come back…. I’m just glad to have a Tacoma again

The coffee cup is a swerve detector. It pops up on the screen and asks if maybe you should take a break, because you're driving like a lunatic. That's it, that's all it does.

I've had it pop up twice, both times I was shaving the corners through a set of mountain twisties. The constant swerving plus the left-right-left crossing over the paint made it pop up and say "hey dude, you ok? Maybe take a break, because you're being an asshole." Or something. I'm paraphrasing.

If you don't want to see the coffee cup, don't repeatedly wander over the paint. Or turn it off. Whatevs.

Was it the start-stop feature? Aside from that would be ect mode and adaptive cruise.

Does the Taco even have or has it ever had stop start?

ECT is only on automatic transmissions, and his was a manual. Could have been cruise related.

No trims have start/stop. All models however come with a handy paper bound book, usually located in the glove box, that answers most questions one might have. Or is it just me? :cookiemonster:

For the sake of being a pedantic semantic asshole, the Tacoma does not have lane depart assist. It has lane departure alert. The difference being that assist has a servo in the steering and will yank on the wheel if it senses a departure, whereas the alert just makes a beep-beep noise.

Of the two, I'm grateful for it doing just the beep-beep noise. If you make the LDA alarm x-number of occurrences within y-time, then you get the dreaded coffee cup. It's like a little congratulations for achieving the next level of poor driving.

The coffee cup is a great "you're driving like an asshole" warning too.

Learning stuff here. How do you turn off the coffee cup? Three years in the truck and basically ignore this stuff. I drive back roads combined with being a jackass it's all beeps and offering of coffee. Just trying to avoid potholes and dead stuff lying in the road. Seriously, how do deactivate coffee break offerings?
