    few things here and there.
At job sites? I’m curious on what you define as a job site. Perhaps the foreman, but laborers and tradesman are not jumping on the EV train overnight, and certainly not fast enough to derail the Tacoma market haha. Lastly, a full-size truck in comparison to a mid-sized.. there are several factors as to why you see a bigger truck on job sites anyway :p

There is practically that still isn’t being achieved, and may never, by our current EV’s. The recharge times aren’t practical for most trades. Again, not saying you didn’t see that, but as a contractor who dealers with everyone from welders, construction, to carpenters, I’ve only seen ONE EV, and it was the boss man lol.

Anyway, you do make great points. I think there is value in EV, and I do believe it’s playing into something, but I don’t think directly or indirectly causing issues for the Tacoma… yet.

Why would you need numbers? You either like the Tacoma and own one, or go buy a pos Chevy.

Job site could be road side construction, ground up construction of a multi story residential or commercial building, or one guy hanging siding on your house.

I like sales numbers. Crime stats are fun too but that would go off topic quickly, and this is a truck forum.

After almost 2 solid years of virtually no one being able to even get their hands on a new Tacoma without getting on a list and waiting for weeks or months, and/or paying $5000 more than sticker price, the OP thinks demand is way down all of a sudden and now they’ll probably have to cut production. Haha, okey dokey. We’re only at the start of the 8th year of production and the 3rd gen is already on the cusp of outselling all of the 2nd gens sold over their 11 year production run. Seems to me the Tacoma is doing better than pretty much every other vehicle out there, let alone just trucks.

Some of the Lightnings I have seen have probably been road construction. I don't think I have seen any with signage on them. I have seen some jobs with one or two trucks parked outside, and one is a Lightning could be the property owner. The majority of the ones I see on the road are most likely drive to work trucks.

Since picking up my Tacoma in New Castle PA, I’ve driven to Sault St. Marie MI, then down to Guntersville AL, and am now in Lake City FL. Tomorrow I’m off to Sebring FL. During these last 2k+ miles I have seen 1 Rivian and 0 Ford Lightning trucks on the road, however, I lost count how many Tacomas!

This might be because Toyota still makes vehicles that can last a long time, and everybody else figures if they make pieces of shit that break people will just buy them more often. I'm 55 and never owned a Toyota before, but I have one now.

Not way down but down. That's still a leap from lining up to wait six months and pay over MSRP, which was extraordinary times.

I don't expect Toyota to build as many trucks if people aren't out there to buy them. Most people in the market have probably already purchased their new Tacoma with in the past two years.

2023s could be hard to come by, if Toyota stops producing the numbers they have in the past. Which is possible with the decrease in demand, and the ramp up to produce the next generation Tacoma.

Tundra sales are up, but those are probably people trading in 3rd gen Tundras on new 3rd gen Tundras.

During the past year I have continued to see a significant increase in smaller trucks replacing half tons used in construction, energy production, and electrical/nat gas utility service. Chevy Colorado, Toyota Tacoma, and Ford Maverick. Zero Rivian and zero Ford Lightning. There are a whole lot of trucks sold in Texas, and outside the Austin city limits the EV’s have yet to have ANY impact.

Who cares about a slight dip in sales? I'm still waiting to read a response that explains why that matters.

Tacoma sales numbers have been lower from Oct-Nov almost every year going back to 2005....11 outta 17 years sales numberers have been down between Oct and Nov. I am not sure whether the sign is good, bad or just the way it has been for 17 years..lol
