Nice setup! Do you just carry the spare on your back, or do you have your wife or something shuttle the other bike up and down the mountain? ;)

Stumbled onto this thread tonight, and after drooling over 10 pages of you guy’s fantastic bikes, I thought I’d share what brought me here…
Bought a “mtb” 4 years ago with the intention of getting back into riding.

I didn’t touch the thing until late in the summer and man it’s nice to be pedaling again.

For 6 weeks I was just doing flat rides to get a little bit back into shape, then by chance I rode a short paved path that was banked and fast and had some lil jumps built into it…
    Hmm, that was exhilarating…
Then I drove over to check out the downhill trails to see “what that was all about” and let me say my heart was instantly aflutter. Literally, feeling like a kid again, could best describe the feeling I felt.
Only I knew on my first 2 minutes that my squeaky old commuter bike was not up to the task. And thus began an upgrade journey…

The holiday weekend delayed some important components, but I will post up my little resto-mod that got me back into the game after a LONG abscence.

I too have been a fan for a long time. Finally pulled the trigger on the frame at the onset of Covid and then patiently acquired the parts and tools to build it over 2+ years.

    Same as everybody else...
I use to ride quite alot and then suffered a bad accident about 3 years ago. Just started riding again this summer, mostly road but also gravel and muddy farm roads. Bikes are like time machines. A pic of my basic ride20220620_121658.jpg

    Oh boy…
Fixing up my old Sedona didn’t last long project wise.
Caught the tinker and mod bug though, just like every other hobby I’ve ever been into.
Ordered a basic Giant Talon to train this winter so I can hit the trails first thing in the spring.

You guys and your sick rides played a role, kind of inspiring me.

Thanks, and I hope to have some pics to share soon.
