How many of you have managed to have gotten "in trouble" on TW?

I tend to compare this site to the old men that play checkers in front of the feed store. They will tell you exactly how to fix your water heater, but only if you wade through their constant smartassery of "you need a dickfer to fix that. Go find Wayne at the register and ask him for one. You know what a dickfer is, don't you?"

That's why I love this place. It's a wealth of knowledge that's buried behind a thin veil of bullshit. Exactly as it should be. Like the olden days of yore.

I just found the banned thread that lists all the bans and reasons why. Interesting, didn’t know it existed.

Weird that there are so many “likes” on some of them. Do people really go onto that thread and “Like” bans without knowing the context. My ban, which included 4 others, has 50+ likes.

 

Yup... banned for a meme on overthrowing the mods. 30 days in the hole.

 

Eh, sometimes it's a funny comment, sometimes it's schadenfreude that someone you don't care for finally bit it, but mostly it's people that were in the thread and knew the context. These threads have more readers than we realize.

Do moderators have authority to ban people out side of TW?

If so, I got a few family member I need banned for the holidays.
