It is a big game. It’s a conference championship game. It had 0 national implications, but big implications for the 2 schools involved. Ya know, kinda like how every game in the regular season will be after the 12 team expansion. A loss is meaningless overall, but big for the schools involved. Wasn’t that the argument I heard? “The schools and fanbases still care.”

so good news for Brian Kelly is there won’t be any big games in the regular season for him to lose after next year, I guess. Good for him.

    Boiler down

They certainly gave it a hell of a shot though! That QB has heart!

Edit: also love the "fuck Ohio" chant on national TV. It was also heard after the Lions beat the Giant in NY 2 weeks ago.

Would someone please explain to Nick Saban that 'close' only counts in horseshoes...
"Both of our losses were close and in the last seconds"..
"Our QB was injured in both games we lost"..

Well.. would someone please remind the man that TCU's starting QB was injured in the first game of the season, and has not played since.

Shhhhhh talking bout Bama and Saban. You know a Bama fan will be along to say how they live rent free in all college football fans heads and how beating them is perceived more valuable than winning a natty and, and , and………..

I’m glad to TCU get their deserved and earned spot in the playoffs.
As Georgia fan I’ve wanted to my Dawgs take on “The” for years.

but I also hope y’all lose because that one guy is a douche lol.

Georgia vs OSU will be a good game. If Georgia loses, it'll be nice to see the SEC/defending champions getting knocked out. If Georgia wins, it's always nice seeing Ohio State lose. Personally, I think Georgia takes it all again, but we'll see.

I think TCU vs Michigan is gonna be good. We only watched the first half of the Michigan/Purdue game, but I was thinking that TCU would match up well against them. Obviously something different happened in the second half, but then TCU seems to get better in the second half too. Looking forward to it.

    2022 Preseason AP Poll
    1. Alabama
    2. Ohio State
    3. Georgia
    4. Clemson
    5. Notre Dame
    6. Texas A&M
    7. Utah
    8. Michigan
    9. Oklahoma
    10. Baylor
    11. Oregon
    12. Oklahoma State
    13. North Carolina State
    14. USC
    15. Michigan State
    16. Miami (FL)
    17. Pittsburgh
    18. Wisconsin
    19. Arkansas
    20. Kentucky
    21. Ole Miss
    22. Wake Forest
    23. Cincinnati
    24. Houston
    25. BYU

So the Total Body of Work shows that Alabama drops 4, Ohio State drops 2, and vastly underrated TCU swoops in out of nowhere to Number 3.

Michigan is the best second half team in the country thanks to their conditioning and adjustments. They've played a lot of close games this year in the first half to teams they should easily handle on paper. Donovan Edwards is better than Blake Corum in some ways but doesn't have that same agility and explosivenes from it as Corum. However, it's his show now. That hand ought to be healed by then too, bringing back one more aspect to the offense we've been lacking since week 10.

That all being said, they've never played TCU. Ohio State and Penn State could be argued as equivalent or better in some ways, but they're still different. It'll be an interesting matchup for sure. Especially with TCU's passing explosivenes and Michigan's bend-don't-break defense which often allows teams to drive down the field pretty effectively, especially in the first half.

Michigan did it last year. Granted, the AP had a 2-4 COVID year to assess from, but no one (even Michigan fans) expected them to make #4, especially after the comeback defeat from Michigan State last year. TCU certainly proved they deserve it.

His argument was that they would be favored against any team in the playoff if they were put there. But, to be fair, I believe they were favored by double digits in their 2 losses as well.
