I like the utilitarian chic that is the 3rd gen. It looks as a truck should.

These sorts of complaints are exactly why its hard to find trucks under 80 thousand dollars anymore. You weird fucks want to be rolling around in 3/4 ton Bentleys.

Wow. It certainly makes the dash appear wider, which is a good move. After driving an F150 for years, my 2nd Gen feels like a Camry inside. I can't see that adhesive last more than two Summers & Winters in Georgia.

Wait, wait. This is the interior that we're clamoring for? This?

Man, I'm sorry, but that's fucking hideous. It looks like someone sat their big-screen TV on a mismatched coffee table. I mean, nice use of materials, sure. But the more I look at the lines, the more I hate it. None of those design elements mesh well together.

I hate how all new cars just have this giant fucking screen sticking up out of the dash.

I think in the future the big screen is for watching soap operas while the vehicle drives you to your destination

Yeah, I hate that too! Overall I'm satisfied with the interior in mine, but I did like the upholstery in my 06 Tundra DC much better.

You have to see it in person. When you do start in a Rav4 before which is typical Toyota for the past 30 years and then into the Venza. Night and day difference. I get that some people like basic and are happy with vinyl seats and crank windows, but as I have aged and realized that if I have to spend money for something, I might as well get the best I can. My days of being satisfied with mediocrity are long over.

My one argument is that I want the interior to match my intended use.

I just bought a Mazda 3 hatch as the second car - the interior on that is shockingly plush for the price. HUD, heated seats and steering wheel, individual climate controls, 10 speaker amped Bose system, leather trimmed dash, AWD turbo, all in a sub 35k car. I'm cool with being coddled. It's a fantastic city car, and makes one unashamed to hand over to the valet at the nice restaurant.

The Tacoma however, that's a vehicle that hauls the dogs, goes camping, takes the leaky lawnmower to the shop, gets dirt and sand and french fries ground into the floor boards... It's a utilitarian vehicle that needs an occasional wipe down with a bottle of 409 and then pushed back into service. I think the dash should reflect that - it's going to need occasional cleaning from dust and hair and a muddy boot print.

So for the family car, yes, absolutely, make it nice. For the family truck, fuck no, keep it plastic and rugged.

It is hideous. I’d be very surprised if in 10 or 15 years, we don’t look back at these big screens sticking out like sore thumbs on Teslas and Venzas, etc… and think it looks so dated. It already does to me.

I don’t get the knit picking of the Tacoma’s interior either. I think it looks and functions great... especially for A PICKUP TRUCK. Too many new Tacoma owners are fuckin’ yuppies.

They aren't trying to put those screens in the dash anymore, are they?

    Plush carpet lol.

one should wonder why they even put carpet in trucks. I’d rather have vinyl floors like in most work trucks
