Nice Picture. Enjoyed the car meet pics too. My fave was the truck with the Safety Third sticker.

    Dave, welcome to the thread.

Good morning. Round one of the Christmas cookies is finished. HVAC tune up is up this afternoon, other than that not much else to do.

OK which one of you guys decorated the porch last night?

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/tree trimmers. I was going to play with cars yesterday but my neighbor let her OCD get the better of her, so I wound up helping cut up a pile of poplar tree trunks instead. She's hyper focused on getting them off her property for some reason. The good news is that she doesn't have a wood stove so we'll get a nice couple of cords of firewood that should be ready for next season.

have you ever had a saw with the safety cutoff? The one that won’t even chop a hot dog(or finger)? Those damn things are a PITA and expensive to replace. I used to regularly cut acrylic mirrors, which of course would stop the blade, and of course, it always happens when you’re a hurry. I never knew anyone who lost a finger in a table saw, so I question the value of that particular safety device other than to ensure you stay alert.

PS - in the VA waiting room typing this. Thanks to all for your good wishes![/QUOTE]
Good luck, before I retired we had the safety saws in the shop they worked great we had a lot of fools that were hired and the supervisors weren't much into training, It was needed. Maybe fools is harsh but a lot were just body's with zero knowledge of how to use basic hand tools let alone saws, and other power equipment, many industrial grade 3phase saws. It gave the company warm fuzzy feelings on the safety side. That feature has a bypass mode that was only given to a few people. It only worked till it was shut down and reset it self. It was to cut aluminum and other materials that trigger it. I worked 45 yrs in shops and the field in the window and door business. First in the manufacturing and assembly then in field service. In a way it was hard to leave in another it was needed for the toll it took on my body. I wanted to have a little shop in my garage I have many tools but my wrists are shot so I do what I can as I enjoy building small tables, cabinets and shelves along with repairing doors and windows.
Again good luck with your tests. This getting old isn't for the weak or meekly.

Lynn has to take her mom to several doctors' appointments this week and other errands for her. I am donating blood on Wednesday.

We are also having a contractor remodel the downstairs bathroom on the old farm house. When her parents had it added originally, the put the entrance on the outside of the staircase landing to the 2d floor. You have to go up 2 steps, cross the landing, down two steps and down a short hall to get to it...not smart when you have to negotiate it at age 96. We are having the new entrance come off the master bedroom on the 1st floor and putting in a big walk-in shower where the hallway used to be. We had to pull off the old chimney and add a blower/vent that runs through the new foundation addition - the manufacturer is taking forever to get the pipe we need. I've been running to get supplies at Lowe's as needed and it's time to grab some 12' siding runs with the trailer.

 Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! So foggy when I got up, I wasn't sure if I had a back yard or not. Looks like water heater service today. Going to need to drain it, and refill. Probably replace the bypass (cobbled) piping as the valve is drooling on the floor, and going to need to check on it. Yippee! :yay:

    Good morning Porch peoples
Being/staying/surviving marriage after 40+ years requires finding or acquiring similar hobbies. One thing my wife always enjoys is "Antiquing"
For the first few years of our marriage I would go along and pretend to be interested in someone else's old junk LOL. After a while I figured I better join in or it's going to be miserable.
I found an old Glass Art Christmas tree that I admired and said ok why not.... and here we are today

Love the porch sign Tom, I think it's time to retire the original and dress up the porch a bit. Thanks for posting it.

It looks and sounds great Mark. Lynns Mom will appreciate not having to do the stairs. Taking care of parents was always job 1.

Glad your feeling better Susan...How are Zoie and Gizmo doing?

Have a great day all and...

I hate plumbing! No matter how simple, it never is. Got what I figured I would need, including flexible stainless for the bypass pipe! Because the closet demands my flexibility. Bought the only replacement valve Ace had, because if I am doing this anyway, that is only $22 , so just replace it. So, ready to go and..

    20221205_141238.jpg

That's right. Shank too short. Back to Ace. $18 later...

    20221205_141254.jpg
    20221205_141538.jpg

Back in, with about 2" wall space to spare. Lit up, bled air, wait for hot water.
