Long story short, my rear end on my 2004 tacoma TRD is rusted to the point that if I take it out it will not go back in and if it starts leaking (it has a negligible leak rn) then I’m going to be without a truck. I have looked for a rear end in junk yards for the last two weeks and haven't found any that match.

The rest of the truck is in great condition. The frame was replaced, the leaf springs are great, but the rear end is trashed.

Ive been told my options are to piece it together by buying parts off rock auto (sounds like a bitch). I guess I could look at ordering a rear end, but that sounds a little risky to me. Please help with any ideas, warnings, or advice you have because this is becoming difficult.

Have you tried car-part.com? I just pulled search for my vin and there are three pages of results across the country. Should be something relatively close to you. You may have to rent a u hual or something to pick it up :notsure:

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
It is always good to know where you live.

When your looking for parts .

If you were close I would help you fix yours . Just why do you think your rear axle is trashed?

The backing plates and the rear of the pumpkin is about all that can rust

Quite different if the differential exploded in a violent fashion.

I have a complete axle to rebuild but have been putting it off
