I did because it was inexpensive and didn't take up much time. Driving in the rain is slightly different since it's occasional and water will quickly run off the sides and bottom of the frame due to gravity. The AC line would constantly drip on the top of the frame causing it to always be wet (in my conditions with my use).

Whether or not that would develop issues didn't bother me since it was such a simple and cheap thing to do.

Lots of people who live along the Gulf coast or anywhere humid. Even during the winter, if you don't use AC your interior windows will fog up quickly.

I have those same issues at times in the summer here in the northeast. The humidity can be wicked.

As others have said, your extending an existing drain that is gravity fed. Nothing negative could occur.

"Occasional" rain is caused by moisture saturated air which cause even more corrosion damages than just water. Cause the exposure time

For Central California. Lots of 100 degree days here. Did the mod when the truck was new this year. No issues. Had a 2016. After 100,000 miles it was starting to show a little rust.

Why not just move to a less humid place then. Seems easier than putting on a drain hose mod.

Nope. I mean, as long as you don't have the hose tied to a hot pipe, there is absolutely nothing to worry about. It is an easy mod, and if you use AC a lot, it is well worth it. Many people who have only had their trucks for a few months and used AC, noticed the beginnings of rust in that short of a time. So this one is a no-brainer to do...

I found rp-342 no stinkier than fluid flim...actually it smells better than FF. I just wore coveralls, and a pair of safety glass's when i did my truck with rp-342, and lived to tell about it. I'm still alive, and breathing over 2 years later. Lots more nastier stuff out there imo.

I would disagree. Yes occasional moments the condensate drips down while stopped at a red light for example , then gets it gets blown around and dries as you drive . Its not a constant stream of water. Its a dribble that disperses . In New England I use the ac a few weeks a year. Theres much more water volume when driving in the rain and its definitely more than occasionally where I live. Not to mention driving in the winter months.
