CaliRaised Sliders

Sheesh. That's disheartening. I just installed some powder coated 20 degree RCI sliders a few weeks ago, hope mind don't look like that after just a year or two..

 

For the price we pay I would expect better quality finish.

 

I just took a look on RCI's website and they said they use an "epoxy primer" before applying their powder coat for better corrosion resistance. I did not see a mention of that on Caliraised's website, so I wonder if the lack of that primer is what's causing the premature rust? Maybe Caliraised or someone more educated on primers/coatings than myself can chime in..

 

Tires are going to kick up rocks and debris so just regularly keep up in it and cover with rust oleum rust protectant.

 

I installed them yesterday. Took a bit longer than those 2.5 hours

Made it work and they look good.
One of the bolt holes in the driver side slider for the black box inside the frame did not line up for the bolt that is attached to the black box so I had to widen that hole, but it worked in the end.

 

I ordered mine from Cali Raised Offroad and they had them IN STOCK. That was 3 weeks ago and I haven't seen them yet.

 

Call them? Did you order to pick up or ship?

 

I ordered from them on 3/13. They gave me an update on 3/21 saying it would take 8-10 weeks for production.

 

I had the same problem on the passenger's side slider. It will not line up no matter what.

 

I had to widen one of the wholes too.

 

Thankfully the rest of mine worked. One if my driver side bottom clamp bolts for it barely fit as well. I had to almost force it but did it slowly and gently and it fit.


I guess it could be “small inconsistencies”between the toyotas frame productions. I would think that caliraised slider production is a fit template that overall fits the truck.

 

I had them install mine last June. Was a friggin nightmare. I was driving up from San Diego (90 minute drive) so I called right when they opened to make sure my appointment was still good to start at 11am. They said yes.

They finally got to my truck at 2-2:30pm. It only took 90 minutes and it was done at 3:30-4 but then rush hour traffic sucked and it took me 2.5 hours to get home.

They never apologized and knew I was waiting. There is nothing to do in that area.

Literally one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

Good point. I always get the the mixed up but I do know they are not affiliated. For the record, my experience was with CaliRaisedOffroad in southern CA. I believe the person I quoted above at the top of this page was also talking about them but not 100% positive. He is in SoCal so I assumed yes.

 

I should have also worded my post better. I was @ing caliraisedled as I thought they were sister company’s to caliraised offroad, and I installed them myself on Thursday. I went down on Wednesday and drove down from ventura county and it took 2hrs down and 3 back cause of a fire stopping traffic

had no idea that the two aren’t affiliated one bit considering their logos are almost identical and the first part of their company names, and that they market each other's items.

 

But all the other bolts lined up except one of the front bolts, and also the bend of the angle on the front mount of the slider was a little off as I had to use a pneumatic jack to get it to align with the frame.

 

Are these 285s?

 

Are these tires 285s? no spacers right?
