Bought a BRT eztune gas tube to try and tamp it down. Should work well from what my buddies that use them have to say about it.

This new garbage law is so unclear I'd rather be safe than sorry but in one press release the state police recommended taking time stamped photos to be extra sure. When I have a chance I'm going to go through my inbox and print out every receipt from magazine orders over the years I can find.

It's like the punchline to a bad joke "so a priest and a rabbi decide to write a law. what do you get?"

Best part was my wife came in while I was photographing my old mag stockpile and asked "wait did you just buy all these?" to which I said "no I've been stashing them for years". Little did she know that I hadn't even opened the boxes of all the new stuff pictured that I just bought.

 

Not from Oregon and haven't read the full scope of the bill, but in one article I read the defendant if arrested for possessing a banned magazine would have to make an affirmative defense argument and show proof of the magazine being acquired prior to the ban date

 

If that’s taken to court they will lose based on case law and precedent.
The burden of proof would be on the state and the accused would have the presumption of innocence until proof is brought forward.

Yes, however judges will not look at it strictly as a 2A case, messing with case law and presumption of innocence would have repercussions that reach far outside of 2A.

Also, lawsuits tend to make more progress at a state level also, they’re only little daddy G, Big daddy G is a little more difficult to take to court.

Hell, I’m all for the residents going to other states and if they come back home with boxes of polymer and steel springs it’s none of my business just like it’s not either one of Daddy G’s business.

 

That is the general consensus of the garbage that was passed. You would be charged and have to prove you possessed them. Which is impossible.

 

I agree with you, my post only stated what I read about it not my opinion.

My opinion is they don't care about the constitution and if that's the way they're going to handle it doing what @plurpimpin did is wise way to save a ton of time/hassle and legal fees trying to defend yourself.
It's complete garbage and defies logic but they don't care.

 

While this is true even in a best case scenario you'll still be on the hook for the legal fees to cover all the time your lawyer spent fighting it once you're ultimately found innocent.

Like I said in my original post I'd rather be safe than sorry, didn't cost me anything but about 30 minutes of my time dragging stuff out of the closet. I considered going full ransom note style with a copy of today's newspaper in the pics with the date but didn't bother hahaha.

But it's a damn shame it even has to resort to this...
