I have a 99’ Tacoma, and the driver side door speaker doesn’t work( hasn’t since I’ve owned it). So I tackled getting down to the bottom of it, bought new speakers and still nothing. Took a test light and I’m getting power to the wires but it will not play anything. Am I missing something ? Any help greatly appreciated.

I would first check the sound settings for front, back, left, right, fade to make sure it’s not a speaker problem.

Would one door speaker have its own fuse ? Radio and passenger side work just fine.

Is it possible to temporarily swap the right speaker wires that work at radio to the left to see if the left speaker works?

I could but would have to cut and splice ( which isn’t a big deal but more than I want to do honestly ). I wiggled the wires feeding the left on the back of the radio and they’re still snug and intact. I may just buy a cheap aftermarket. That way I will already have the wires cut so then I could try the right to the left side.
