Starting to get the "mine is bigger" feeling in here....

But, back on to the crappy builders. My father-in-law was my GC. Talk about getting screwed around. While the house was built cheap - in the end I think I would of been happy to pay the other $20k.

Just a few problems off the top of my head:
    1) Painters never came back to do touchups because they threw out all the paint. This meant they also threw out the custom mix numbers.
    2) Took over two years to get all the outside spigots done.
    3) No landscaping was budgeted... so I am doing the retaining wall, dirt, grass, and such out of pocket. One word: expensive.
    4) None of the sub-contractors give a shit about a "warranty" because they did their work as a favor... so no warranty was applied I guess.
    5) I had to fight to get anything done the way I wanted because he would hide most of the decisions from me. I ended up stopping by the house during the day to talk to the subs directly and tell them how I actually wanted it.
    6) He never gave the electricians a layout for the electrical so I have switches behind doors, missing plugs, and not enough plugs in the garage.

The lesson I learned - never EVER build with family.

I never have the truck during the week anymore lol, wasn't me!

Edit- If you see a black truck with a missing grille and a brush guard, that's me.
