I got drunk one night and slept on my mom's washing machine. Actually, I got drunk alot of nights, but I'm relatively certain I only spent one night on a washing machine. :notsure:

    Pretty brave!!

I once slept on a fire station floor 100 miles from home when I was part of a disaster response team and had responded due to an ice storm. Spent two days clearing downed trees from the right of ways.

Spent a week in a camper with 4 other guys after we responded to a town a couple hundred miles away after the town got hit with an F5 tornado. Saw a lawn mower deck wrapped around a tree. The water tower was twisted 4 degrees.

Yeah, they were good for that...

Worked with a couple over the years that were complete assholes, but they were the best guys who knew to track the important details.

We need engineers. But I ain't one of youse.

I get dizzy on ladders and roofs anymore, my heart would put a connecting rod through the block long before I was sleeping...

I had a handyman come and repair an attic window for me (3ed floor), I held the ladder while he did the 5 minutes work, my heart rate about tripled and my shirt was soaked in sweat by the time he came down.

    Alright, my strangest night story.
I used to work for a mining OEM, both above and below ground. I spent countless hours in mines and tunnels all over the world. One night, we were in a coal mine doing testing on a prototype machine. We were in about 42 inches of coal, maybe a thousand feet deep but more than four miles back to the face. The plan was to go in with the 2nd shift and ride out with them. It was me and one of our service techs. We rode in on a flat rail car in a reclining position and we had several.transfer points, took about 45 minutes to get in and the last 100 yards was on a magic carpet ride, which means a conveyor belt dragged behind a battery machine.
Well, problem was our machine was several entrys away and we were by ourselves for most of the night. When it was time to meet to get dragged back to the rail, we were there at appointed time. However, they left early. So, we spent a cold ass night huddled up near the power center for a bit of warmth.
Needless to say the 1st shift was surprised when they showed up! However, we had to wait mid shift to catch a ride out due to maintenance. We spent close to 20 hours underground. It was dark and hearing the earth crack and flex was quite... Interesting. This was 26 years ago.

/gets home, showers, and posts resume to indeed. That's a wild story man.
What's worse, 1000ft underground or 1000ft above ground?

They are all different. Mile and a half deep in a Gold Mine in South Africa is different than being 50 feet below the floor of Boston Harbor vs being 1800 ft deep in Utah where we had to wear full face helmets and Kevlar vests because the weight of the mountain was shooting small stones out of the rib (walls of a mine) vs 800 feet below Chicago. They all feel different.

Been sicker than a dog the last 4 days. Whole family got it. Body aches, chills, fever, and no energy followed by a horrible lingering cough.

Just some nasty virus going around. Tested negative for flu, strep, and Covid.
