Get an intake. Noise when you are on the throttle and no drone at highway speeds.

    These trucks sound awful.

IMO v6 motors rarely sound great, but induction noise is always welcome.

I agree, they sound like shit. But the TRD is the least shitty sounding if you really want to change the exhaust.

No BS, honest. Maybe it's the fact that the engine can exhale better, but my truck does shift and accelerate much better. Gear hunting is nearly resolved compared to the stock exhaust. Have you tried it yourself on your truck yet?

If you are going to a louder exhaust, I do recommend getting a resonator right after the ypipes.

There is a noticable resonating drone around 2.75~4k rpm at 2nd and 3rd gear. Much more noticeable if you go for catless ypipes.

Something like a Vibrant Silent Resonator should be able to eat up a majority of the drone.

Hi everyone! I’m new to this group and after waiting on an allocation since June, my Tacoma Sport double cab arrived today. Been watching this thread and was wondering, are they any models of Tacoma that come with the TRD exhaust or is is a parts dept. only item?

Only standard on the TRD PRO trim. Otherwise, purchase separately from parts department or elsewhere and install.

Is it there truth or is it only a myth. TRD exhaust reduce your low end torque?
