Just a shade under. I was shocked really. I’d put almost 40k miles on that truck too.

I wish i would have gone with a manual instead of automatic. It really doesn't make a difference unless you really don't know how to use a manual. If anyone wants to trade i might be down

Mechanical simplicity generally equates to greater reliability and durability. Mechanical transmissions are simpler and might result in a longer lasting truck if the taco wasn’t already so darned reliable. My wife even had a 2009 MT Corolla before she crashed it. I loved that little 1.8l mill.

One big added benefit now is theft protection. Fewer thieves know how to drive one at least relative to an automatic, at least if they are millennials anyway. As a result, it might about the best theft deterrent money can buy!

I purchased my Tacoma because it was the only available truck with a stick shift. Had three stick Rangers over the years & enjoyed them all. End of story.

The new Bronco, the previous gen Corvette, and a Porsche have 7 speed MT, doubt any higher would be practical.

Second about the theft. Second car is 01 rav4 MT. I'm never worried about someone wanting to steal that thing!

As well as the Aston Martin Vantage at one point.

I tried out the Bronco's crawl gear in its 7MT. It seems pretty cool.

So many kids I know drive manuals, they can only afford cheap cars, Mazda, Hondas , Toyotas . I wouldn’t leave your keys in the ignition thinking your theft proof with a manual.

I'd still be worried about leaving an older Acura/Honda outside even though it has a stick shift. Integra GSR and especially the Type-R, EM1 Civic Si, etc.

People that don’t know how to drive manuals aren’t really gonna be the ones stealing cars,
They are just the general population (no jail pun intended). But if you’ve got a “pro” then they probably can drive a manual.

Yeah unfortunately I have friends whose Integras got stolen (kids want Integra GSR/Type-R parts) and a friend whose Miata got stolen.

The people who stole them most probably know what they are doing.

Late to the party, but MT’s (IMO) are just more fun to drive.

That is.. until you’re in stop and go traffic.

EDIT: I’m kidding, calm down, Debra.

Sport manuals have hill assist. The first time it did that I realized I'm one spoiled old fecker in this truck.
