I saw one face to face. I don’t know if it was because I was surprised by it, but it appeared to be huge. I was in a truck and stopped and lifter my phone to get a pic but hit the wrong icon to open the phone. I looked down at the phone for 1 second and when I looked up, it was gone. It could have only gone into some thick shrubs because I was blocking his escape into the woods. The rest is wide open for at least 60 yards so I would have seen him if he went that way. I was in awe of this thing. I got out of the truck and went to the shrubs when reality hit me and I backed up and got back in the truck. It looked exactly like this pic from the net.
Ps. The yellow/gold eyes are intense

Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!

I'm dragging the trailer to Lowe's to pick up stuff our contractor needs for the bathroom expansion and remodel he's doing on our old farm house. When my in-laws had the original bathroom added to the house, they chose to have the entrance in a position where you have to take 2 steps up onto the stair landing to the 2d floor, 2 steps down and the walk thru a short hallway to get to the bathroom door. Not a good set-up for my 96 year old mother in law now. We're moving the entrance into the master bedroom on the 1st floor and the old hallway will become a large walk-in shower. The contractor started last week and is making good progress.

That's what I think the coyote in my yard was doing. The deer have been traveling the same path, a big buck and a few doe. Still don't know why the coyote was a lone wolf (pun intended).

 

Would make a nice winter coat.

No fireplace - that was the chimney for the furnace. We bought a new furnace last year and added a blower unit so it will now be directly venter out through the foundation extension - waiting for the triple wall stainless pipe to finish it off.
