I have heard that some CHL holders even got bumped to the end of the “standard “ queue . Good luck! And what a mess.

Yep. At this point it seems to be a gamble for anyone if they will recieve approval before the 8th. Finalized a private transfer yesterday with my FFL. He was discussing the approval system with someone that was dissappointed with not getting instant approval. He stated he and one of his employees just for kicks put in their info to see what approvals would be. He, a class 3 FFL and owner of the buisness was placed in the CHL queue. His employee, who submitted his at 1:30 in the AM, after the daily time cut-off of 10:00pm, got instant approval. There seems to be no pattern as to who might get instant approval. Its a real bummer, not so much for me as I have gotten instant approval luckily on everthing I had coming in, but for those that are trying to get thier first firearms. I have been in several times in the last few weeks and every time the store was full of people that had considered buying firearms but for one reason or another had not done so yet, that are now looking at the very real likelyhood that they will not be able to until this permit system is created or if we are lucky, a push back of the effective date.

I see many private party sale going the way of pre 941. Make a law but at the same time make it impossible to follow.

That was always the intention of the group that wrote 114.

They were collecting signatures on 2 ballot measure petitions last spring. One was to outright ban semi automatics the less extreme one eventually became 114. After Uvalde they dropped the semi ban and put all their efforts in to IP17 which became 114.

Any of my fellow Oregon deplorables have a S&W M&P22 that they want a couple of mags for? I have 2 new 12rnd mags that I would sell for $25ea or trade straight across for a pair of new black M&P 15-22 mags.20221127_144131.jpg

Well let's see if the judge puts an injunction on at least part of the rules on Tuesday.

Here is hoping. It wasn’t sounding promising based on the articles available…

Well my usual pessimist group issued this statement

So even the defendant (State) is asking for a postponement from the judge.

I was reading about that this morning. Apparently the police told the AG that no training that meets the bill’s requirements exists so no one will be able to get a permit on Dec 8th.

it turns out some of Oregon’s smaller police jurisdictions require new officers to buy their own duty gun and without the correct training available even cops wouldn’t be able to legally purchase guns if 114 went into effect immediately.

This is a bit of a relief for me because I still have one more BGC pending (on my biggest purchase naturally). At least if they postpone I’ll be able to secure the last of my property. I have zero intention of applying for a purchase permit until all the lawsuits make their way through the courts. Luckily I have plenty of stripped receivers to keep me busy for a few years.

It was really cool and super helpful. I plan to take their advanced one next year. I highly recommend it to anybody looking to sharpen some skills. It's incredibly close to Oregon as well.

Essentially the state lied about the permits being ready on the 8th. So now they are trying to sound moderate and reasonable. What a joke.

hope your final purchase gets approved. I heard a lot of shops are implementing the three business day rule and releasing after that.

yeah I heard that all the 114 opposition that attended the court hearing on Friday broke out in laughter when the AG said the permit system would be up and running by the 8th. Kinda funny to see them have to backpedal 2 days later.

Unfortunately Bimart is pretty much the only retailer in the country with Henry Big Boy X models in stock so I had to go through them and I’m sure they won’t apply the 3 day rule. I even searched high and low when I visited my mom in NC for thanksgiving. I’m in the CHL queue though so I’m not too worried if they postpone. It was just gonna be cutting it real close if they stopped checks 12/8. My buddy that made a purchase 2 hrs later on the same day already got approved so I gotta be getting close.

If we get till February I might have to pick up another thing or two as well…

Those Henry Big Boys are getting popular. I have a friend trying to get one too. Or at least something similar.

Lever guns are already fun but with a red dot and can on there it’s gonna be a real hoot. I’ve always loved how the space cowboy guns are so wrong yet so right.

If your buddy is still looking bimart has them in 357 as a web only item. Only took about 2 days for it to get to my local store from the warehouse.

TBH? I want a takedown BLR that also takes modern mags in semi calibers.

    Say, feeding from AR10 mags.
