Making progress - they should have the roof redone and the new siding put on the extension in the coming days.

Good that you have hot water again, but as this valve is by definition a safety device, I would consider that sensor to be out of spec due to its being hooded so deeply. As I see it, you have three options, the preferred being to obtain the correct replacement, the second option being to remove it and find a better option than the coupling/nipple you are using now, that will allow the sensor to extend farther into the tank.

EDIT: third option? Wait till your water heater explodes and then build a new house.

Evening Ken. Not a fan of ER waiting rooms.... pretty bad when you get priority seating in the back :anonymous: and don't have to wait out front

Zoie and Gizmo are doing well. Giz finally gets to go in for shots tomorrow... been waiting a few weeks now for an appointment. '

    How're things up your way?

The ratings are the same for each. It's a temperature and pressure valve (spring), and the fact that the probe is shrouded should make no difference. Water is the same temp inside the fitting, and if anything, pressure might be increased. So, if I see any drop down, I would be concerned. If one becomes available on one of my errands, I may get on, and do a partial empty and replace it. Old one was junk, and drooling water all over the closet.

Nice collection. Put a white or green cloth under them and you will have a Putz.

I am there with you on the plumbing. The hot water has a slow leak thru the overflow valve. Turned down the temp first, still leaked, replaced the overflow valve and the leak is still there. The water heater is six years old. Measured the pressure in the overflow pressure tank and there is no air in the bladder the good news there is no water in there either. Off to Lowed this morning to pick up a water pressure gauge so I know how much air to put in the tank.

Welcome to the thread. There are discussions on just about everything. We try not to discuss stuff that might get us banned.

Good morning. Besides doing a little work on the hot water heater I will be making Ziti for the wife and son today. Going to get creative and cook down some finely chopped onion and red bell pepper to add to the sauce. What the hey going to add the pope to the mix. No celery so the holy trinity is not intact.

No p@l!t!s I've already been banned once for that and I didn't think it was political till I read the thread and I was thinking it was more on economics and current labor shortages. I think several of us got 30 days. Not going down that road. I do like good craft beers, but not to hoppy, woodworking and remodeling. I get up to 6 months of wheeling in the snow up north here.

Yup, except that! Welcome to the Porch!

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Once it stops drizzling, going to grind on the concrete in the heater closet, to make a better path for drips. A pain because the bottom is blocked to keep little mice at bay, but if I just get it below the riser, it will be fine. Got some truck putz if it gets nicer. That's about all.

All is well up here in the PA suburbs. I hate waiting in the ER with all the other folks with different maladies. The hospital we ysed to go to is what they call a community hospital and the ER is always packed and depending on what the problem is you might be in there for quite a few hours . But on a lighter note, Glad you are doing better. Also glad the girls are doing well and Gizmo is getting her shots . You take care and be well and be safe. :D

I believe quite a few have been banned for political statements. A wise man told me "Don't take the bait" when someone makes a statement and you want to respond :argue:. They are Watching.jpg watching....

Erie has a pretty good ER, my bride of 45yrs fell in O'Hara and shattered her left shoulder and we wanted nothing to do with Chicago so took the 30min fight to Erie our destination. They were great to work with. When we got home she had a total reverse shoulder replacement in September.
